Despite Alpine, Alonso and Piastri doing their best to keep things interesting, the reality is we've got 3 consecutive weekends with no races.
So in a bid to keep up a bit of chatter here, I'm going to discuss three (one a week) potential new F1 fantasy games we could play next season. I'm not expecting to run all three, but if there is sufficient interest, we can look at bringing the popular ones in.
(The current game style will still run next season. But it also suffers from, everybody making similar teams, its the same concept/rules every season, it doesn't generate much chatter outside of posting teams. So maybe we can make something new too.)
Potential New Game 1: Streak
Going to start with a basic one. If you've played Streak with footy tipping, this should sound pretty familiar.
Prior to lockout, each manager needs to select one driver or team to score 45 points or more for the round, based on the current scoring system. Each manager can only select each driver or team once for the season. If a managers selection scores less than 45 points they are out. Winner is the manager that makes it the furthest.
There are 22-23 rounds in a season, and so far in 2022, all 10 teams have achieved 45 points in a round at least once, as have 15 drivers.
Participating managers would just need to post their selection in the chat (or DM me if they want to keep it secret) by lockout each round. I'll maintain a spreadsheet with everybody's selections throughout the season and publish it post lockout.
If this sounds like something you'd be interested in for 2023, let me know. Also, feel free to post away with any questions or suggestions for rule changes to the above.
