Handscomb on the final list (318) of players for the SA20 auction.

Dunk & Fawad look like the only other 2 Australian players included.

Mills , Naveed , Rossouw & Salt look like the only other ones with BBL contracts that are on the auction list.

Still no clarification if the South Africa v England ODI series will be held in January as scheduled, part of the CWC Super League so surely they won't forfeit that series as well.

SA20 reportedly starting January 23rd.
No Australian players picked up
Mills UNSOLD
Naveed withdrew his nomination
Rossouw to Pretoria Capitals
Salt to Pretoria Capitals

Marsh Cup starts tomorrow. It should give us an early insight into potential new BBL players, whose bowling more or less, or those who may be a chance to move up or down the batting order.

I remember Kerr, Bazley and Kelly catching my eye early last year.

Sadly Kerr, T Sangha and Davies will all miss the opening game with injury. Kerr will be back soon (finger injury) but Sangha and Davies have back injuries and are just trying to be fit for the BBL.

Start with Todd Murphy who has finished with 2/29 from 10 overs. Played 3 matches in BBL11 as an injury replacement for SOK.

I see Dan Hughes has begun the annual tease...

Thankfully it's unlikely to matter this year with Vince coming back and Patterson being added, but still!
Should be very cheap this season and a good bench option to stash for their early double gameweek with solid cash generation potential.

Public Service Announcement: Will Salzmann will be a great cheapie this season or next if he gets picked up by a club. Bats around 8 and whacks them and bowls well. Playing in the current NSW v Vic OD game on kayo for those wanting a live look at him.

Edit: also a jet in the field.

Looking at the squads hard to see him making the first 11 of either Sydney squad, would have to go abroad you’d think. Either Melbourne squad could probably benefit from him.

Might be worth monitoring depending on the severity of Tanveer's injury (Cricbuzz have him as a leg spinner , but just watching some vision he definitely isn't a leggie)

Hardie is probably the big watch for me this season , no idea if/where he fits into a full strength Scorchers side though.

Salt replaces Patterson up the top , whether Hardie can take Munro's spot or not , if they play Behrendorff , Mills , Richardson , Tye + Agar & Hatzoglou , he (and Bison) might not be getting much bowling though.

Talk of Australia A playing a few games again so could change their XI dramatically.

Haven't really looked at the other teams yet in too much detail to see where the other opportunities might look like.

A full strength Scorchers side might include Green at the top based on how he's going in India! At least in the back half of the season anyway...

Excluded him as I suspect he will be in the Test team , but yes his return should coincide with Salt leaving.

Tough team to pick if everyone is available.

52 (21) tonight , be interesting if they make a adjustment to the T20 WC Squad.

Be interesting where (if) he bats when Warner returns for the WI & England T20I series.

Cannot for the life of me understand this from CA if they want the bbl stronger…
I imagine it would be to give South Africa a meaningful game before their Tests starts.

Also puts some pressure on our Test players if they are underperforming.

If CA want to make the BBL stronger they would make make a "clean" window for the BBL so it doesn't clash with the Tests.

You should get a good look at Hardie throughout the Shield/Marsh series. From the WA shield preview:

What do you do with Aaron Hardie if the Aussie allrounders are available?
"It keeps me awake at night those sorts of questions. Realistically, how often are we going to see all of those guys in the one team, it's probably not going to happen too often. It would be an absolute luxury should it eventuate during the summer and those selection dilemmas will be welcome ones if we do have to make those calls. But to have five quality allrounders in Marsh, Stoinis, Green, Agar and Hardie, I can't see a reason why we can't fit all of them in the same team."

So he is highly rated there.

Vital part of the Australian A side in Sri Lanka , I would imagine CA would want him playing as many games in all 3 formats this upcoming season , massive potential and upside.

Salt
Inglis
Marsh
Hardie
Turner
Evans
Agar

possibly fits

Green replaces Salt
