What's Meek expected Price and is he possible dual position R/F
Not sure hes secure enough in the side to be paying over 400K for but time will tell, really wanted him at a side where he was clear first choice, they rate Reeves massively from all reports and you'd expect Lynch will play plenty of footy with even luck with his body aswell.

I don't see value in him. Stoppages continue to trend doen across the competition and D50 to F50 chains increasing as well. Doesn't suit his game style.
CBA will increase next year. i expect 75%+
CP will increase next year.
CL will increase next year
30 Disposal a game career average.

A LOCK for my starting team next year.

Previous 4 seasons at:
2017: 118/22
2018: 129/22
2019: 113.5/17
2020: 117.2/22

Before 2021: 92/21

So from this he's averaging 21 games per year at 114/game across a 5-year span.
I would expect closer to 110, but at his price and with his durability he seems a lock imo.

Collingwood play a much different game style though than the team he played for, it's not a high possession style, it is get the ball forward as fast as possible Richmond style and it's not conducive to high SC scoring across the board. He will be past 30 before round one next season and was never the quickest player anyway. He's not going to be racking up huge possession numbers like in the past, he will help them with clearance work (something that they struggled with a bit this season) but a lot of the extra possessions he used to rack up wont be there for him. Yeh he will outscore his price, will it be 110+? Im not too sure.

This is good thinking. I remember watching Hawthorn games back in those years where they would chip, chip, chip and handball around in order to maintain possession. Mitchell would move 20-30m and have 5 meaningless disposals for 15SC points as the ball pinged around.

I don't think Collingwood are going to play the type of game where that happens? Mitchell will win a first or second possession from a stoppage and that will be it: the ball will ping away and he'll trot after it and hope there's a ball-up in the F50 a few minutes later.

In Fly we believe

Centre mids don't necessarily have to be at F & D stoppages anymore , just sit him between the arcs and act as the distributor , see Naicos handball to him when he is in space at every opportunity.

JDG & Lipinski take the forward stoppages
Crisp & Pendles the backline stoppages
Tay Tay & Titch handle the rest

Game is far too quick these days to be at every stoppage.

Good to see another father/son at the club 😉

I assume Frampton is cover for Howe , Moore & Murphy.

Like McStay , hopefully provides another option with Checkers & Johnson.

Hill puts pressure on Elliott , Ginnivan & McCreery but hopefully puts WHE into the VFL.

Floreat Pica

Edit: Oops that is from a game perspective , may (or may not) relate to SC scoring

That has only changed in this year. 2017-2021 the Pies were top 5 for disposals per game (and were #1 3 years running). Hawks also dropped off in this category significantly this year, trying to implement a more aggressive style.

If the Pies have the round 14 bye, you just have to start Tom.

Midfield:Oliver Walsh Macrae Neale Titch Green.
Not sure if we'll be able to start a midfield that's six deep like that, plus Aschroft at $207,000 at F7. Also I think Steele at his price (just under $600k) is the biggest midfield lock.

Don't think Neale is value as a starting pick with Dunkley now in his side along with Ashcroft potentially hurting his scoring also.

I think the days of Titch being a premium SC scorer maybe over but time will tell.

Oliver & Steele are almost locks for me, Macrae with no Dunkley there appeals. Then there are the younger guys like Brayshaw/Walsh/Warner who will certainly be in the mix for me.

I think tactical spend in the mids next season will be critical.

Do you pay absolute top dollar and start Laird, Oliver, Neale and Touk (the 120 guys)?

Or do you save $100k on each of those and go for something like the Steele, Walsh, Brayshaw types?

He will probably fly under the radar next pre-season but I think Bont could be a great pick. He battled a shoulder injury, picked up FWD status by playing out of position and yet only went under 100 three times for a 116 average. Now there's no Dunkley, no Hunter and hopefully no niggles...

I think one of the biggest things I learnt this season is that even the uber consistent superstars will always give you an opportunity to pick them up at a discount somewhere along the line. It's just a matter of how much they hurt you before it happens.
I thought the stars had aligned for me when Cripps went down and I had just enough to jump to a max priced Macrae who had 3/4 150s to start the year... and we all know how his year ended up!

Just on DPP too, other than Bont and Parker I'm really struggling to think of any players that fundamentally changed the upgrade strategy. Have I missed any? I suppose Bailey Smith could have been one if he wasn't Bailey Smith...

I for one will not be starting Titch; my 0 over 30 rule will continue into 2023.

I think Oliver will be my lynchpin; with Steele to back him up with perhaps a couple of midpricers like Hopper and go deep with the rookies. I am personally leaning towards Bont over Macrae in 2023, perhaps as an upgrade target instead of a starting pick, when I normally pick Macrae.
