From the short amount I've seen of Meek he looks like a pretty good ruckman and miles ahead of what Hawthorn have now. Definitely a strong consideration for a ruck spot in SC. Real shame it's not a Witts 22 starting price.
Well done Hawks. If Meek lives up to what he has shown so far, imo you got a future All Australian ruck.

Overly simplistic I know.
But if we make some sort of Jackson and Grundy equivalency, taking into account all the factors, then the Melbourne Jackson/Grundy trade looks like this:
Out: Jackson, In: Grundy
Out: picks 33, 43, 53 and 67, In: pick 13, future 1st round, future 2nd roundSER=700]@Ben's Beasts[/USER], I'm calling that a good win!!!! (y)(y)
Yes a big win there for the dees and hunt vs hunter and weeds vs sache comes out even good trading in my book

How does Grawndy play out SC wise? Thoughts?
It should benefit Grundy having Oliver and Petracca at his feet.
I also like his price being low 500's.

I can see them both doing well enough. Not those big 125+ averages (I don't see any ruck going above 115)
The backup ruck should make a decent impact in SC, having to play against a teams second ruck.

Strange choice for the pies. Adding a slow plodder to a game plan based on run and gun ball movement. From a SC perspective, he'll have a similar year to this year. The main reason for his 2022 drop off, was the ball moving over/around him in free flowing play too often.

He will definitely help them in winning clearances at stoppages, something they struggled with.

RICHMOND has delisted four players including a former top-20 pick and this year's VFL club best and fairest winner.

Riley Collier-Dawkins and Jake Aarts have not been offered contracts for 2023, alongside talented youngster Sydney Stack and Will Martyn.

Aarts was drafted with the club's first pick in the 2019 Rookie Draft and played 42 games at AFL level across four seasons, booting 34 goals. He featured at AFL level on seven occasions in 2022.

Collier-Dawkins managed 11 matches across four seasons for Richmond, also featuring in the 2019 VFL premiership.

The 22-year-old, selected with pick No.20 overall at the 2018 NAB AFL Draft, played two games this season.

WHO'S CALLED IT QUITS 2022's retirements and delistings

Richmond selected Stack as a pre-season supplemental signing in 2019, having moved across from Western Australia. He ran out 35 times for the Tigers in four seasons, winning the best first-year player and the VFL premiership in his first year.

But he struggled for opportunities in 2022, playing just twice after seven games last year.

Martyn spent three years on Richmond's list after being selected with pick 44 at the 2019 draft.

The midfielder/defender played all three of his career AFL games last season, a year he was also awarded the Guinane Medal as Richmond VFL best and fairest.

The Tigers brought in Tim Taranto and Jacob Hopper during the Continental Tyres AFL Trade Period to boost their midfield.

Let's take stock .......
First, they hardly take part in the trade period, even though blind Freddy can see they need to make some list changes.
Secondly, they've had 17 Coaches since Jeans left in 1976 (ave 2.6 years/Coach!). A lot of them duds, one or two shifted on too early. They're now entering the Coaching merry-go-round after other Clubs have picked the better candidates barrel clean!
They didn't take the opportunity to improve their list, but they have taken to up end their Football department, and get rid of a guy doing an ok job, and enter a barren Coaching market.

It's like they saw Essendon shooting themselves in the foot year after year, and said "Hey ........ mind if I borrow your gun?!".

Another one bites the dust, I'd like to see a new coach at the Saints who could actually bring a new way of thinking and make some real change improving the list for the future.
Just don't know who that'd be right now, wouldn't mind seeing Nick Riewoldt in the role if he could drag himself away from the media.
Yze left, otherwise go back to Rossy!! 🤫

Yeah that pretty much sums it up, sack your coach after all the best viable options have already signed somewhere else, if this is Geoff Walsh's doing it's not a good start.
