Good point re the Australian players returning, which makes R9 relevant, but I would want to add it to R12 & R13.

I thought that you may have been focusing on Scorchers to get ahead on Scorchers for R12, but the number of Scorchers in our team in R9 will actually have no influence if we want to maximise DGR players in R12 & R13. The fixture looks a little deceiving in that way.
I’m not sure how it looks deceiving.

Round 12 has scorchers and heat on the dgw. No blanks. The double before that has scorchers in it, so assuming getting scorchers won’t be an issue. Then just getting in heat players?

If you’ve got 5 scorchers then a boost in round 13 would be handy to get more canes. But could easily be planned for given sgw in 10/11

With Thunder picking up Farooq wouldn't you think their front line bowling line attack would still include McAndrew based on last year's stats? I have them as Sam's, Farooq, McAndrew and Green with probably Sandhu/Doggett as 5th with Cutting/Sangha making up a 6th if needed?

Who are we looking at bringing in with our trades for Scorchers DGR in round 2 if Richardson is fit, M Marsh/Inglis are named and Fat is picked up by the Scorchers as a replacement for Evans then throw in Tye/Agar/Behrendorff/Salt? I think for team balance moveing forward after round 2 I may have to give up on Marsh and hopefully he doesn't go big, especially if Faf arrives. I'm looking at starting Inglis, Salt, Behrendorff and Tye on the bench for round 1 getting ready for round 2 and then try to get Richardson in (if fit) plus either Faf/M March with my 3 trades?

I was thinking that Inglis would be a bargain at his price however consider his matches since June - https://www.espncricinfo.com/player/josh-inglis-662235/matches

191 runs from 10 innings, a high score of 85 with the next best being 24. This is not screaming at me must buy.

I've had a look at the recent matches of quite a few today, very instructive.

I thinkl last year they didn't use him to open as much as he did the previous season when he had a breakout season (also form drop off). If he opens, I think you have to take him but if he bats down the order he may be someone you could miss on. I think he's in trouble if they sign Faf as the whispers I'm hearing atm.

I'm going light on Scorchers, currently have Marsh and Tye, probably bring in Mills and Hatzoglou for something different, fading Inglis. If Faf is signed, he's definitely in. Their next double is in round 9 and I won't be hanging onto their baggage until then.

I dont have a great deal of confidence if he ends up batting 4 again behind Faf,Salt and Marsh, doesnt have to world beat when hes 80K though I guess.

On Inglis, he actually opened the batting in 7 of the 8 games he played last season, he just didn’t do very well. Although the qualifier against the Sixers where he scored 79 off 49 will be fresh in the minds of the coaching staff.

Neither Marsh or du Plessis (if he signs) are openers so unless the Scorchers play either Bancroft or Hobson then Inglis would be most likely to open the batting with Salt.

The Bancroft unknown is what worries me most!

Yeah it is a worry.

When Bancroft and Inglis played together last season they opened which obviously won’t happen with Salt there. If both play together with all the other first choice batters available this season then one will open with the other at 5 or 6 😬

Don’t mind it. Burning Khan to get Marsh round 2?
Not overly interested in Marsh and playing around with a lineup including Philippe and Tye, so yet to look forward for trade planning. Would prefer to trade Philippe, Lynn and ? if I was to target Marsh. In other lineups, M Short has been selected to keep open the possibility of trading to Marsh via the downgrade of Lynn to a player in the $60,000 odd range, given it is unlikely I start a or several players below the price of Stoinis.

Thanks for the research on Inglis as I went from memory and obviously was wrong. I know he had a poor season. I thought Faf opened for his IPL team CSK? I agree though if Inglis doesn't open I'm not sure he's a must have. I'm leaning towards Nielson/inglis as emergency and going Philippe (maybe Wade if he bats top 3?) and forgetting about my keepers. Inglis as emergency gives me coverage for Sixers bye.
