I’ve cooled on Billings a bit now tbh, wanted those fielding points as even a duck with the bat can still mean a 20-30 point game. Phillipe firming for me

As for Hardie I think he bats 5 and 2 overs tbh. At 99k though it’s decent

Those who have Neser, what’s the plan? But risky to start now as he could well get stuck with the test squad for the summer. Swepson? Same price
Neser gone out of my side at this point, too much risk. Not carrying a Brisbane heat guy in my side at this stage. There’s a few I’d like so a boost will be highly considered round 3.

Agree on Hardie, think on average he gets 2 overs. Most games gets 1 over and then depends how he goes + game situation. I’d be picking him assuming he bats 6, but the comments do increase hope for being pushed up the order.

Yeah I’m also coming around to just using a boost round 3 and getting in 4x Heat that round

Hardie coming into consideration for me now. May even go him over Gilkes

Just on the Phillipe situation, starting him obviously means 10x DGR round 1, and then 9 DGR round 2 if you hold Rashid. Does Rashid go round 2 in that instance?

Tye to allow Mujeeb to be looped with Farooqi. Not overly interested in Gilkes but difficult to start Philippe if I elect to go with Siddle to join Khan. Hardie and Inglis on the bench in preparation for RD2 and also allows the possibility to keep all three Stars during their bye with no Heat starting or dedicated loop. Behrendorff/Richardson/Agar in line to replace the likes of Siddle/Lynn/? in RD2.

If I recall last season Rashid had a very ordinary first few games but came good near the end. If he’s only playing 4 games, then there’s a risk his form mirrors last year.
I'm not sure whether we can rely on that form as a barometer, see tweet below, had 2 3fa's early. Not sure if he had a death in the family or close friend, maybe it was during the IPL, can't recall now, but, he finished as the top wicket taker with 20. Taking 6fa against the Heat. If you want to study his opposition batsmen, he dismissed 5 left handers in that Heat lineup.

This is the lineup I settled on, I think

Inglis (Gilkes)
Short, Hales, Lynn, Roussow, Stoinis (Billings, Connolly)
Khan, Sams, Siddle, Zampa, Hardie (Farooqi, Tye)

Enough flexibility to loop Farooqi and Gilkes with flexibility to change team if they don’t do well.

Hopefully leaves me well enough poised for round 2/3 even though round 1 looks a bit bare bones.
May consider going Siddle down to NCN and upgrade Connolly to someone given the non usefulness of a donut 1st few rounds.

Round 2:
Short to Faf
Siddle to Jhye/Agar (if playing)
3rd trade TBC

With no Mitch Marsh, I’m getting the vibe he may bat at 4-5. Two overs a game maybe?

Faf
Hobson
Banton
Inglis
Hardie
Turner
Agar
Richardson
Tye
Kelly
Mills

Sub Kelly for Morris when available or Hatzoglou for either of those when a pitch suits. Kelly will be the throw away role which may get Hardie some overs.

Turner has been a bit of a bugger when sharing it round with the ball, so wouldn’t be surprised if the frontline bowlers don’t always get 4 overs.
Has it been confirmed that Banton is the overseas replacement for Salt? If so, what do we think his price will be? I think he opens the batting with Faf. Wasn't he listed as a keeper when he played for Heat a few seasons ago? That would be handy.

He took 6/17 in the last game, which somewhat redeemed his season. Before that he took 14 in 10 games, which is still pretty good.

He started with 1/30, 2/17 and 0/40 before two three-fors.

Pretty sure that I've got 2 league spots left open ....

- not overly fussy on which I join (the more competivie the better) but it certainly won't be a public league ...

- won't be a ghost ship and you might see me around this sight during the comp ;)

- anyway ... just PM me the league code ...
