This is where the chat about Hardie moving up the order has come from.

HP GM Kade Harvey on Hardie
"We think Aaron Hardie could play a bigger role with the bat, so that’s always been in the back of our minds."

I can see them lining up something like this

Inglis, Banton/Roy, Faf, Hardie, Turner, Hobson

Surely Bancroft gets a spot? but where does he fit in. maybe opens till an overseas signing arrives.

or this I think they are struggling to get a top order batman replacement like a Roy/Banton and might have to settle for an All-rounder who bats at 6 hence the chat of Hardie moving up the order maybe and would like up like this

Inglis, Bancroft, Faf, Hardie, Turner, New signing
No not a All-Rounder 😅

Was thinking maybe Gurbaz or Kohler-Cadmore but looks like they are both going to be playing LPL.

Faf should fly out with QDK 😉

Hard to hell, but with JFM involved in the release I wouldn’t be surprised if it’s a young local kid, potentially Liam Blackford maybe who has been keeping for the Vic 2nd XI as backup for Harper.

EDIT: Or potentially Seymour back again?? He’s been dominating the local Premier comp so far this year.

SECOND EDIT: Pete Handscomb would make a hell of a lot of sense though as an option. All just spitballing until they announce properly I guess.

Neesham early is quite interesting. Think this could hurt Shadab but potentially help David and even Short.

Who does he replace in the XI? Jewell maybe?

McDermott, Wade, Short, David, Neesham, Ali, Shadab, Ellis, Paris, Meredith, Dooley/Tremain/Parker?

Or still run Jewell and rely on Short, Neesham, David to make up the other 4 overs?

Wade in the top 3 a lock now imo. Ali, Shadab, Davis and Neesham to finish the innings
