Hard to see Sutherland not given a go early given how well he is travelling with bat and ball this season
Good domestic form , but geez his previous BBL form isn't flash , maybe this is the season

HS of 20
BB of 3/30 then a 2/13

5 bowlers + he , Maddinson will want a bowl as well.

Been critical of the Renegades in the past but looks like he , Fraser-McGurk & Harvey could struggle for regular opportunities again.

Not sure I agree with the clear cut nature of this personally, he's 25K odd more expensive but De Grandhomme will bat 4 or 5 and is just as likely to bowl regularly as Hardie, think you can make a pretty reasonable case hes the better starting pick tbh, Round 1 Double and no bye until Round 5 to navigate, Voges pumping up Bancroft and Hobson's greater opportunity this morning doesnt do Hardie any favours either.

Anyone any closer to solving the wicketkeeper conundrum?
I think it will just be Gilkes and Inglis, don't particularly want to have to lock in an expensive keeper with so many expensive Scorchers to trade in next round, get through the first two gameweeks with the two cheapies and then trade Billings in feels the way to go to me.

Just checked last season's stats. Fraser-McGurk averaged 14 (9 matches). Harvey was 3rd best at the Renegades with 25 (12 matches). Neither would be guaranteed a go at any of the other clubs.

Handscomb at 62k might be an option to get both Gilkes and Inglis on round 2

Handscomb was pretty rubbish last year and has been for quite some time, getting stuck with another crap scorer concerns me just as much as opening up the ability to move Gilkes and Inglis around, one I still need to think about hesitant to look too much into Shield form.

Yeah it’s him or a Webster,Conway type though. All speculative

I think this years cheap options are just about the worst we have ever had, really don't see the vast majority of these guys doing anything but you've got to pick someone.
That’s why I think it’s a nuff, a Webster/Handscomb type and then we might need solid players at the 6 position in bat and bowl

Webster will be reasonable if he bowls regularly enough, dont think hes going to bat before Larkin and Burns, Hussey talking up his bowling makes me think theyll use him, possibly at the expense of Stoinis in all honesty.

Yeah I don’t mind Webster, in my side atm. Though Handscomb has me thinking, because do like the flexibility with the keepers

Might be them that might need to be turfed then and try some others.

Just think they need to say to the 3 of them , we will give you the first 6-8 games , this is your role , now go out there and perform and reward our faith in you.

I guess it's very easy getting caught up reading about the potential of some of these kids , up to them to make the most of their opportunities.

Seem to recall Harper and Harvey making a (surprisingly) very useful opening combination about 3 seasons ago. Then the Renegades picked up S Marsh and Finch had more availability, and that forced a number of changes. Fair to say it hasn't worked out well for anybody there really.

They really need to fix these little glitches before the season starts, why does my side not save or randomly end up miles over the cap? Really not good enough 5 days out from the competition starting.

I think I had both Fraser-McGurk & Harvey on the plane to NZ at one stage for a series , think it coinciding with one in SA , so that's how good I am of a judge 😀
