It’s still an issue. I was settling on Gilkes with a Billings back up plan. That was connected to another loop I was using Renshaw as backup for, but those plans need to change. I think I would now like to just pay up and try and make Philippe / Billings loop work if I can. That would mean switching Gilkes down to a $62.5k batter.
Yeah I like both of those also. Billings I’m a little less keen on now given he won’t have the gloves and maybe bats 4? Phillipe we know the role. Both great options though when you factor in the early DGR for Billings and The option to use him as a loop early

Billings and Inglis is who I personally have at the moment. Head start on heat players and 5 games in the first 3. Good recent form from billings. Others obviously have 1 more in Gilkes but you could make that up with an extra heat in round 4 - where Neser/Swepson at a similar price to Gilkes are far more appealing imo.

If I can count properly looks like the Hurricanes & Thunder both have 1 local spot to fill + the Scorchers with 1 OS.

Then any Injury Replacement Players & Replacement Players for applicable Test Squad members.

Chance I still go all 3 of Gilkes, Inglis and Billings. Have 1 as a bench batter

After considering the keeper situation, I think I’m going to just pay up for Philippe with Gilkes looped and Inglis.

Inglis (Gilkes*)
Sams, Hales, Lynn, Stoinis, Hardie (Roussow*, Philippe)
Khan, Siddle, Green, Zampa, NCN (Farooqi*, Agar)

Philippe can be fielded for 1 of Gilkes, Roussow if they fail game 1
Still flipping who I field between Farooqi and NCN - Farooqi has some job security issues competing with Qadir for games. NCN has a really good role but is just in general made of glass - massive rotation/injury risk. However should get a good opportunity to bat at 7 with that Stars lineup and bowl 4 overs.

Like the side, very solid and well thought out. Just benching Phillipe round 2? Not the worst thing tbh given he plays the best bowling line up in Perth

Hi guys,

Anyone looking for leagues to join?

I ran 4 leagues last year (they all ranked quite well from memory, not sure if I can still check) and sent invites to previous members about a week ago.

There are still some spots left. If you're not already in one of these, do consider joining. Please join only 2 leagues at most to keep variety among leagues.

Da Best Leeg Eva (455563) - 7/10 full (updated)
Best of Da Best (884251) - 9/10
The Handsome Bunch (286703) - 9/10
The Fantastic Ten (674246) - Now full

I still have some league slots left. So if you're looking for members for your leagues, I'm keen to join them as well.

Thanks :)

I guess the thing with Phillipe is if both your loops fire round 1, you’re benching him, and then benching him round 2, so effectively becomes a 165k loop. However I guess if you’re benching him, it also means you’re doing it because you’re happy with the score from the cheaper guy. You then have rounds 3 and 4 with him and then his double come round 5

In round 2 Perth play first. So I think use Inglis as a bat, have Phillipe on keeper bench, if he goes big, can use a boost to trade Gilkes to a donut, or DPP Gilkes into bat, trade like a Rashid to Billings ready for round 3

I think we need to be prepared to be fluid in R1. If loops fire, we change plans to take advantage of that and set our team up to be stronger going forward. That might mean taking Philippe out for someone else.

Worth noting Hardie batted at 3 ahead of Turner at 4.

Bancroft opened for one team, Inglis and Hobson opened for the other.

Going with this currently :-

Screen Shot 2022-12-08 at 5.04.55 pm.png

Allows me to loop both Gilkes & Rossouw in round 1, Wade can cover for either one. Wade I feel is a bargain if batting top 3 with his BBL history - would love confirmation that he is keeping though...

Potentially this gives me 11 players on the double round 1

In round 2 Inglis, Agar & Hardie come on, which gives me 8 players on the double before trading - Boult (on the bye) > du Plessis an obvious trade to make it 9 players on the double before any further trades.
