Not too many to start. Cameron probably best option to start up forward as coverage as he should play number 1 ruck for pies but I think most of us will be hoping maybe Gawn becomes a R/F during the season with his possible new role. I think Gawn will play more behind the ball than up forward and leave Grundy to play 60/40 ruck.
Cheers, not sure I'll touch Gawn or Grundy to start, but maybe later if their roles and scoring are clear. Might be the year to go for the boring Ruck duo who score you 200 per week?..hard to say but I started Witts last season. Maybe Witts and English this season?...although English does miss games. A lot of trades can be wasted on Rucks in a season.

I might still look at starting Blicavz as one of my rucks as he plays through mids a fair bit for cats and doesn't miss many games (hope for a rookie M/R but unlikely) and swing him to mids as my 8th keeper mid once the season opens up and you can see which ruck is the must have you've missed on. I do like English but can miss games, Gawn/Grundy unsure on role, Witts priced to max output and Marshall will probably share ruck duties to play forward to help cover King going down.

Blicavz is very solid and a good choice, you (me) anyone could do worse than start with Blicavz and Witts, maybe D.Cameron and or English. Rucks sure ain't set and forget anymore.

Based on some of the positions being released and approx. prices going around for players I've come up with eh following as my 1st draft for 2023 (tried to pick players that I think will play round 1 with me going light down back) -

Backs - Daicos, Salem, H Clark, Yeo, L Jones & Marchbank (Ginbey/Chesser)
Mids - Oliver, Neale, MaCrae, Steele, Hopper, Cunnington, Sheed & Ashcroft (MacKenzie, E Hewitt/J Richards)
Rucks - English & D Cameron (R/F) - gone these 2 at the moment as both will be number 1 rucks for their teams (unsure Grundy role but option)
Forwards - Dunkley, Rozee, Taranto, T Thomas, T McLean & Sheezel (Phillipou/Van Rooyen)

I'd like to try and squeeze in Phillips/Tucker from Roos somehow but don't want too many Kangaroo players. I've gone mostly high priced rookies to give me a little bit of play room if cheaper ones come along. This side gives me I think10 keepers.

Let the fun begin when team picker opens up soon. Good luck.

The draftee who Hawthorn moved heaven and earth to get to the club at the 2022 AFL National Draft – Josh Weddle, has put in an incredibly impressive display in a series of time trials at a fan open training on Saturday morning.

The session which was held at Bunjil Bagora included the time trials together with a number of other running and skills drills in front of a large contingent of dedicated Hawks fans ahead of the Christmas break.
Weddle was a clear standout as he flew around the track, with recruit Karl Amon and second year mid Josh Ward also putting in eye catching performances.

From that fixture there appears to be 4 MBRs from Round 12 to Round 15. Might be a little easier to navigate the byes.

Multi-Bye Rounds

RD12: Brisbane, Fremantle, St Kilda & Sydney (4 teams)
RD13: Geelong & Gold Coast (2 teams)
RD14: Adelaide, Collingwood, Essendon, Hawthorn, Melbourne & West Coast(6 teams)
RD15: Carlton, GWS, North Melbourne, Port Adelaide, Richmond, Western Bulldogs (6 teams)

The question I have is will round 13 still be best 22 with only 2 teams having the bye or will it be best 18 still even with 16 out of 18 teams playing that round?

Very versatile looking at his combine results. =8th for standing vertical jump, =2nd for running vertical jump, 9th in 20m sprint and 4th in 2km time trial.

I hate the MBRs and not just because of Supercoach but because whole season just feels like it stalls for a month. There was widespread sentiment to that effect this year so I thought we may have seen the last of them.

No - now we get a bonus week.
