Yep, perspective is key. I think what rankles about the decision last night isn't so much the outcome, even though it was a significant swing, but the fact that it really did look to be out live... It wasn't what I'd call a bad decision by any stretch. But DRS has been throwing up these scenarios for a decade now so what can we do?
Tbh live I thought it was going down leg, but it certainly was close, and there’s no doubt some bias there. Can imagine it being frustrating it to non-owners. I’m happy to have it in the game though, hopefully removes some howlers.

Im surprised so many people faded an opener who was pretty much guaranteed to bowl with the side they named, thought hed be 40% owned when that side came out tbh.
I would assume no strong form, thoughts of being a one hit wonder, and overpriced led to the decision.

Pretty sure he’s just a touch under 40% owned, just a few regulars in here were ones that faded him.

Bats middle order in the Shield and adopts a completely different mindset didn't think that was the best indication of his output, 53, 75 and 43 in 3 of his last 4 Marsh Cup matches did enough to convince me he was in reasonable touch.

Of course it’s completely different formats. Wasn’t braining it but wasn’t in bad form either.

The team list was enough to convince me he’d bowl enough but I can understand why people faded him, because if that team list had Manenti over Kelly there was no chance Short was staying in my side.

My gripe isnt really with the introduction of DRS moreso the average standard of umpiring for years and years on end in the BBL, if you want to run a respectable competition pay the money to have some decent umpires, I'm sure the IPL isn't grabbing random people out of their Premier Cricket equivalent.

Looking at the weather for tonight's game it seems potentially iffy. I'm considering Billings but not in the game is likely to be weather impacted.. does anyone have a better read on the situation? I'm seeing ~40% chance of rain, but also know that can often be fickle and local knowledge is often much more useful!
Any help would be much appreciated!

Throw in 51 and 57 for his club as well in his two appearances there this year. And practice game runs. I’m also adamant I saw he’d taken a 2 fa with the ball in club cricket, but for the life of me can’t seem to find it.

The only query I had late in terms of his selection for me was whether the dollars saved by reducing him down to a $105k/$125k player structured me up better going forward, and reduced the reliance on Brown as a $42k BAT being there for his DGW.

Thankfully after flirting with the idea of him out, I swung back to him real late. A millimetre or so difference in the Hawkeye ball tracking and everything is different.

Harper has trapped me before, I'm torn between Billings and Wade, benching Wade next week feels weird, and tbh that Canes team is so strong has me thinking they share the runs around all year.

Billings is probably overpriced (batting at 4? and not keeping), but at least he's a legit bench next week (allows a loop look at Inglis first game I guess too) then the double, then flick to Phillipee.

Its Billings at the moment for me so far.
Thanks for the insights D always a great read and this lad takes it onboard. Many of us are in the same boat D and I went the same- Billings Though taking Gilkie 's score and replacing Billings with Brown has 135k good reasons to do it. My problem is the no. 4 cheers NDD

My thinking was that I wanted more cash in my bowlers (my set up originally had short in bats). Ended up being green + Short vs Siddle + Sandhu + some spare cash.

In the end, I wanted the extra flexibility with cash for round 2. Hopefully Siddle and Sandhu get close to the other pairing in their 2nd game.

Cairns is notorious for Thunderstorms this time of year that tend to hit later in the day , anyone picking players playing a night game there are fraught with danger.

That's definitely what worries me.. imagine taking Billings or Harper to avoid Gilkes and then they don't score cause the game is rain impacted!
