Looking at the weather for tonight's game it seems potentially iffy. I'm considering Billings but not in the game is likely to be weather impacted.. does anyone have a better read on the situation? I'm seeing ~40% chance of rain, but also know that can often be fickle and local knowledge is often much more useful!
Any help would be much appreciated!
On the BOM website it has a very low chance of rain hitting throughout the day and night and if it does hit it appears to be minimal (0-2mm) so I'm not particularly worried. Heat batting first would be good to see though.

What would you expect Hardie to average?

Historically he’s a 30-35 player.

Wondering about taking him down to Connolly for the loose change, and trying to assess the points impact of doing so.
Theres only improvement if he bats or bowls more, neither of which I particularly see happpening, think hell end up around the 30 mark and pull the one or two good games out of his arse like hes done his whole BBL Career.

I reckon it would be a different answer is ST didn't also have a DGR at the same time, but I actually don't see him as being necessary. Most have 5-6 ST players from this round, and when you then add an Inglis/Bancroft type, and the Agar/Tye/Richo triple.. you really only have 1 or max 2 on field spots left. There are so many better options for those spots, even on a SGR over someone like Hardie.. Short/Khan or even a Mujeeb type if you have someone like him. Hardie down to Connelly could also be the difference between keeping Short/Khan or needing their cash too.

Agreed.. I think his best chance is actually if one of the bowlers goes down mid game.. and definitely not a good enough reason to start a guy!

We have been in a heat wave up here for the last 4 or 5 days. There has been some build up of clouds on the tablelands but it hasn't brought any rain on the other side of the range where Cairns is situated. The wind is forecast to come from the North, which usually doesn't deliver rain unless it's connected to a tropical low pressure system, which currently isn't the case.

I'll report back around 3pm AEST and report if I'm seeing anything building up.

Is Matt Short a hold or what? Guess it comes down to whether you can fit in yeh desired Scorchers without trading him and Rashid
That will depend on his 2nd score, and his BE.
His BE will depend on whether they've fixed the DGR snafu, where they tend to reverse the scores!

If you own both Rashid and Short you probably just play the BE game, and sell one, while holding the other.

Might be a way I can get to 9DGR and hold both but we’ll see. As long as I can get Tye, Agar and Richo in

I feel like it's going to be a tough decision if it comes down to trading out 1 of Rashid or Short, not sure which way I would go if both BE's are similar...

If I’m forced to pick between the 2 im very comfortable in keeping Rashid and trading Short. We saw how differently it could have been for short. He’s not bowling 4, like he was back end of last year. He’s likely to be 200k+ and with limited history to back his ability to maintain that price. Rashids done it for years.

I also like the draw for Rashid. He averages 100 vs heat who he plays round 3, granted it is a different batting lineup.
