Optus tonight then 3 games in a row at the SCG (think they normally like 2 spinners at home)

Can't see them playing Abbott , Dwarshuis , Kerr , Naveen & the 2 spinners though unless they leave out DC 😱 or Patterson.

Good idea to sign a second Afghanistan player though while Naveed settles in.
Think theres enough doubt for me to pass, really dont want to prioritise Naveed over a Scorcher only to see him not even in the side within 2 or 3 rounds, he's still a very inexperienced young kid at the end of the day, find it hard to see him picked over the names that have got them deep in tournaments for years, becomes a question of which 5 bowlers you think they are most likely to pick game to game, I don't think they'll leave DC or Patterson out personally.

Greetings esteemed comrades,

I seek your wise advice. I'm in love with my team and can't bear to part with most of them. Was going to trade Clarke for Billings, can't do that now. Might as well keep all the Thunder players for this round and look forwards with great expectation to Hales and Rossouw in particular doing their thing next round. Will probably keep Sams and Farooqi after this round. Stoinis and Zampa can't be dropped until they have had a lengthy run of failure. Shadab the same. Transferring out Rashid and Thornton is unthinkable. I want to hold Naveed unless he is not playing next round. That only leaves Rogers and Brown to be traded out, probably for Hatz and Lyth, would like to have Tye though. Want to bring in Hosein however would have to trade out Green, Rossouw or Hales to do so which is not ideal.

$118,200 in the bank.

Any thoughts appreciated.

Everyone is expendable, so do not grow too attached to players and scores given the fickle nature of T20. If the order of scores was reversed for Clarke, would you still be as keen to hold through his bye?

I would be very cautious about selecting Hatz given you already own Agar. Do you expect the pitches to be spin friendly for RD2 and that the pace options for the Scorchers all struggle? Do you intend to hold any Scorchers bowlers past RD2 and would you be confident in fielding Hatz if necessary or that he is selected in RD3? In your situation is the cash saved essential in funding other or future moves? Seems like a low upside, high risk move.

Will be very interesting to see what coaches decide to do with their Thunder players and presents a great opportunity to exploit the Sunk Cost fallacy.

Out: J Clarke, R Rossouw and T Rogers
In: S Billings, A Tye (via A Agar) and A Lyth
Should be a solid option given your thoughts above

Only making two trades this round - Short out, M Marsh in, Rashid Khan out, Farooqi in. Had 4 Scorchers in the bench last round so have 10 DGR players. Lynn looped into David (E) as the 11th.

Will use a trade boost next round to get 4 Heat players.

Might be like Tye to Swepson to free up the cash

Then Hales to a Renshaw, Rossouw to Neser and maybe Lyth to Bazley etc
People might need to trade Sams out (Round 3) instead to free up cash if they keep all of Gilkes , Hales & Rossouw.

Interesting to see what Farooqi & Sandhu owners do if they both have a good Round 2.

Kuhnemann (& Peirson) might be very popular for those cash strapped.

What a wild first round. Ended up rank 2385 with a score of 1145. Could've been much better.

Was looking great after the first two games having dodged Clarke and starting Short, Farooqi and Green but ended up being a pretty average round. Shattered I didn't end up with NCN after having him for WEEKS. Was looping Roussow and Gilkes so only ended up with one of their scores on field. Was considering A Agar to CDG to avoid looping Rossouw but didn't go through with it. Wouldn't have changed much.

Current trade plans (already have Inglis, Tye and A Agar from round 1):

M Short -> Faf
C Lynn - > Lyth

Deciding between C Green/Hales/Farooqi -> Jhye

OR

Start Inglis E and if he scores well do C Green/Hales/Farooqi -> Billings via Gilkes to prepare for next round.

Not sure what to do with Hales/Gilkes/Stoin/Rossouw in the coming rounds. Will loop Rossouw again and hope for something better, field Wade if Rossouw does nothing again.

I don't completely hate trading Rashid before Short think it's a closer call than initially anticipated, Short plays the whole tournament and is opening the batting, bowling regularly and fielding in prime positions it's a pretty good role.
Yeah and you can get him up into the bats it’s a big win. If I look at my team in a SGR, Farooqi/Zampa is bowl 6 if I hold Rashid, Rossouw bat 5. Get Short up into bat, gets Farooqi onto the ground over Rossouw so much better holding Short for me

Pretty hard to justify trading Rashid when his next two are a Thunder side that just got knocked over for 15 and will inevitably have some mental scars and Heat who he averages 100 against though which is probably why I'll end up keeping him, guy of his quality is dominating those matchups more often than not.

Yeah don’t want to let him go tbh, but Short and Farooqi beats Rashid and Rossouw

You do have unlimited trades so can you not try and find a way to use the 3rd trade?
