Reluctantly trading Short I think. That Rashid run is too good. Thunder, Heat and a new look Perth
I traded Khan out one other year and it pretty much ruined my season, hesitant to make the same mistake again, just hurts you so much if he dominates while you're taking on such a large portion of the competition.

Yeah I’m with you there. Have been hurt massive before by no Rashid. Give how attacking the Strijers top order is, think Rashid will see a bat most games too

Short is getting overs, but he isn’t a particularly good bowler. And if he’s only getting 2 overs, isn’t going to see any ER bonus, so pretty much relying on him as a 200k bat mostly

A reminder to those who own a player from each of the following teams: Adelaide Strikers, Melbourne Stars and Perth Scorchers (on either your batting or bowling line) that you can loop the Scorchers double.

For example:
Start Melbourne Stars player on field
Place the E on your Scorcher and move your Striker to the bench
If your Scorcher has not scored enough by the end of their match on Monday, then move your Striker on field thus pushing your Star to the bench, for their match on Tuesday
I'm actually planning on doing the same with Gilkes (Thunder) and Shadab (Hurricanes) via Stoinis. Definitely recommend anyone looping if you can.

I can see Gilkes scoring well enough in game 1 to loop him on field then Shadab going huge though. Happens at least once per season. :ROFLMAO:

Why are so many assuming that Jhye will play just one game of the double?

Fairly integral part of the team I would have thought. If he’s fit then he gets picked so if he plays game one and doesn’t re-injure himself then I think it’s likely he plays game 2 as well.

I just know from experience as soon as you load a heel injury it tends to pull up sore, granted the workload is only 4 overs of bowling plus fielding but think theres a reasonable likelihood he pulls up a little dodgy and is given a rest with a 2 day turnaround and interstate trip.

The key words there are “doesn’t re-injure himself” and also they are playing 2 days later in Hobart. Pretty easy to see him being rested given their bowling depth.

The other thing about Rashid/Short is you’ll likely have to trade them in round 5 anyway they have the bye and the likes of Abott/Kane Richo are on the DGR and will be like 180-200k

I tend to hold the guy I think has the better floor regardless of breakevens when its a tough call, personally think Short is more prone to the real stinker,(still had 5 scores under 30 last year), Khan very reliable and rarely has a bad game.

Given their depth, then wouldn’t it make more sense to rest him until the Boxing Day match against the Strikers at home?

If he rests against Hobart, when do we expect the following rests to come over the next five weeks?

Probably in all three doubles to maximally annoy Supercoaches. Voges channelling his inner Beveridge. ;)

Not sure I understand your point here however if they want to ease him back in, it would make perfect sense (to me) to play tonight’s home game, skip Hobart on Monday and then play next Friday in Melb or even the following Monday in Perth.

The point is that what would the Scorchers and Richardson be accomplishing by playing him tonight if the injury is still causing a concern or if there is a high risk of recurrence, which could possibly be reduced by delaying his return an extra week?

From an injury/load management perspective, would they be assessing him on a game to game basis throughout this season as to whether he needs a rest or not, or would a plan be in place to manage his loads either by trying to hide him in the field, reducing his overs dependent on match situation or by using rests to split his season into different stages?
