I have Agar in my own side and wasn't planning to trade him out but now might need to (for cash reasons).
Think with the combined side we are already digging a hole for ourselves.
Thought their would be a lot more contributions from a heap of people but doesn't seem to be the case which is dissapointing.
Not sure Farooqi , Green , Hales get the 3 desired Heat (no idea who they even are) we want in Round 3.
Just tossed up Agar's name with a high BE as a way to get some cash going.
Certainly don't have to use a Boost this round , but hopefully the 3 Heat players we trade in get the 3 MR/SS players for Round 4.
I am guessing (assuming) that we will be trading out Rashid & Short in Round 5 so that 3rd player to trade out could be Agar , Inglis , Shadab , Stoinis , Tye , Zampa.
Maybe my own thoughts for my own team are coming across to much for the combined team.
It would be great to get a broader range of views involved … if anyone is lurking, please speak up! 😊
I think it’s natural to somewhat mimic our own side’s plans for our combined side. It can still work well, unless they’re in wildly different positions (which seems unlikely just yet) or are consciously adopting very different strategies (also unlikely yet).
I just had another look, and I don’t think we are in bad shape. The only names I wouldn’t be happy to have in my side in a fortnight or so would be one of Gilkes/Handscomb (one is okay for a cheap WK2 or loop), Green and possibly Farooqi (although I’ve seen people talk about him as a long term hold!). That’s pretty good going for a DGR heavy side thy didn’t have the strongest DGR teams to select from (largely Thunder, Strikers and Stars to start). I think the bones are good.
You’re right in that we probably do want to get some more cash gen going, and to build for future doubles. It’s only really Abbott that looks hard to reach without sacrificing a top gun though (which I agree is fine to do - I’d rather 2x Abbott than 1x Rashid, for example). KRicho is 179k and falling, Steketee is 174k and then there are guys that are c. 160k and below.
We might need to play the BE game for a bit, and maybe punt on a cheapie as our fourth in this round, but if we play our cards right, Hosein could have good value to trade out after R5, and we could get guys like Philippe, Dwarsh, DC, Mujeeb and maybe Swepson at prices that allow them to be cheap keepers or cash cows while we hold them.
Maybe if we did a poll of the top, say, 5 DGR trade-in priorities across the R3/R5 doubles (given Heat crowd out Renegades and vice versa) and the top cash cows, and go from there? Maybe we give c. 10-12 options and ask people to pick 5, and then work around those?
I anticipate that I’d definitely be voting for Philippe, say, but that would be to get him in R4 or 5 when he’s cheaper. If we know he’s a priority though, we can order the trades based on fixture/price/BE.
