BBL|12: Combined SCS Team

I think this is a great concept. I just haven't been around much because of the struggles with deciding things for my own team.

The next bank of trades with Brisbane on the double.

Priority number 1 for me is Shadab Khan. Dual roles means he is a double.
I think I'm going to bring 1 Brisbane player in just for a free shot at VC. Neser is my preferred option, is there clarity that he is available for 2 games? If not it will probably be Swepson because I like bowlers and he doesn't seem overpriced.
I have 4 Gades/Sixers already, 3 which I am happy to field on the double if they are available. Harper I'm not so sure about. The other ins like Abbott and Richo are a bit pricy for me at this stage. I could get one just to get it done, but I think I will prioritise cash gen. Webster leads the race in that department.

Outs I'm thinking are:
Agar because the BE is 70 now. He's done what I wanted him to do. Provide a double. The BE is too high for singles imo.
Sandhu (most likely over Farooqi) due to having 3 Thunder and only needing 2 to accomplish looping, of which I may only have 1 position to loop in anyway. Sams is a priority hold.
Stoinis because I will just take my one one shot to get rid of him with his BE. This could go either way because of his ownership. If he does well it will hurt, but will give me confidence to then bring him back in.

Just thought I would share because it's probably different to what you guys had in mind.

Ie even if he scores 0 in R3, his R4 BE should be low/close to zero.

I think I saw that Hobart have a good looping draw in the next few rounds too (particularly for the SGRs 4, 6 and 7). Could be a handy one to have a look at each round.

No Jhye a big mistake this round. Mistakes happen I guess. So annoying he was going to be close to our first picked this week, but got scared off by an injury which had no noticeable impact on him. Going to be hard to make up that ground, but our team is scoring well enough to place very highly. We will catch back up over time as those who moved ahead by picking Jhye cop their own bad selections.

I think we are in good shape! I’d swap my team for this one in a heartbeat

Reckon the priority should be to lean up the bench, as Handscomb, Gilkes, Stoinis and Connolly is a worry. I think we can back in Stoinis to find form and Connolly serves a purpose plus is too cheap to trade. We only need one WK2 though so I suggest we take this chance to clear out Gilkes because not only is a monumental waste of space who’s name and icon makes me sick, but he really has no useful purpose left to serve. Handscomb could be useful though if he ends up playing in round 5, plus the Gades are ok for looping after round 5 so he could theoretically sit at WK2 for a while.

Green should go, as should Farooqi given they have a bye and we can’t afford to carry too many on the bench. Think we keep Sams and Hales given he found some form, so that’s 3 Thunder out. Last I think we actually trade Rashid. He only plays twice more before his bye and his score tonight probably halts his cash gen. I think we can free up that cash to help with the trades this week, and position ourselves for the next phase of games.

Thinking we probably hold Inglis semi long term so he becomes the 3rd keeper in the puzzle, ideally as a bat loop. Although can be traded if needed.
My worry is the team become clogged with cheap, non playing players that can’t really be moved on. This week probably lay represents a good round with Dooley, Swenson and Neser all being around the $100k mark and there being some cashed up guys that you can make a case towards trading.

Dooley would most likely be a round 5 trade unless he keeps punching out scores that make him impossible to trade. It more likely is he’s up to a great price to straight swap him to a key Sixer or Gade.

Been busy and missed this over the past week but thoughts on potential trades would be to use a boost for:
Out: Farooqi, C Green, A Agar and M Gilkes
In: P Dooley, M Swepson, M Renshaw and M Neser

Three nicely priced Heat players that could represent great value at their price points and could be kept beyond RD3 (if needed) along with the quick cash gen from Dooley to be a flipped to a Sixer/Renegade in RD5. Approx $30,000 left for RD4 trades which could be used to turn two Heat players into two players from the Sixers/Renegades.

Wonder where that leaves us Bank wise and for Round 4 & 5 trade in targets ?

We don't seem to have a eye on future rounds when we do next round trades.

Do we need a playing Bat 7 & Bowl 7 though ?

Seen plenty of extremely good coaches run without them.

Good to see alternative/different suggestions though , think the time to trade out Gilkes was at the end of last round , but that can't be changed now.

Still deciding on trade options. I'm liking a boost option, and think we need at least one cash grab, I think these seem reasonably common choices. I'll think about it more tomorrow while I'm "working" as to who we bring in and trade, as there are plenty of decent options here already. It's my final day for the year, and my boss will be out for most of the day, so I should have a bit of time to go through various options.

Also, round 2 wasn't a complete disaster, I thought we would drop a lot further back than that. 53.55 per SI (we had 20 SI) was not too bad in the end. Purging some of our Thunder players should help enormously for Rd 3.

I think we should bring in a minimum 2 of these to support the concept of this team (i.e. picking the team based on the consensus options wherever possible), 3 if we can.

Unfortunately, I was a few thousand short of being able to afford all 3 Heat players with this team based on trade outs I prefer. I decided to skip on Neser of the three, as there are some thoughts he might miss the second game (in Qld) which will be held Friday night, due to the test starting in Melbourne Monday morning. I don't trust any BBL rumours any more, the main reason he missed was entirely the lack of cash. This can be resolved in multiple ways, such as trading Hales over Gilkes, but Hales did look good today, and I think he could be a good batter to keep at his price.

In: Renshaw, Steketee, Dooley, Naveed

It does mean another round light on for DGR (2), but it gets us two cash cows, solving that issue over the next few rounds, one who could be used for the Rd 5 DGR. I don't see many weak links among this team apart from the two non playing selections. I think this should resolve any bench concerns for now too - if anything it leaves our bench a bit too strong, as I was really unsure which bowlers to field in the end.

Based on current poll results, and confirmation Neser will not be recalled for test duties, Renshaw to Neser, Steketee VC would be the changes to this I would make. Still not locking anything in.

I'd like to see more suggestions still, otherwise I'll have to do actual work...
