I'd go DC to Marnus, try to get the jump before every man and his dog looks at him next round, tonned on a similar lineup a couple years ago so matchup shouldn't hold any fears, I'm not the biggest fan of 3 of the Scorchers top 4 all performing at once but it seems to be the popular trade strategy so probably best to match it in this position.

1/513, 6 SI. Short VC locked in.

We still need to make at least one more trade by reversing DC to a playing bowler. We can also trade Bancroft/Hardie if there's any concerns with them. We can bring in anyone from the Scorchers, Heat or Thunder. Heat and Scorchers both have a Rd 12 double (Scorchers this round too obviously), Thunder have all singles from here. Scorchers also have a bye in Rd 13.
I think we could bring in a batsman if we wanted to, perhaps by swinging Hardie to the bowl line.

DC -> Marnus leaves us with $46,100.

Tentatively done this trade, can still change as required. Hopefully the team lineup is suitable. Our last 3 trade ins will all be involved tonight, so this will be the last chance for the round to make any changes.

Agree with that. I don’t really understand why we’d get an SGR player over a DGR (can’t we just get them next round?), but it does look good for Marnus’ bowling chances.
My main concern is 6 PS feels risky, especially if there is any team changes for game 2. We also probably didn’t get many PS names thrown up so might have missed the chance to lock one down.

I’m fairly happy going heavy on Scorchers with the return double, but if we don’t have consensus on say Dorf (I think next man in on the poll, but not widely discussed), then I agree that Marnus’ role looks really good. Highlights from his net session looked encouraging too 🙂

I’m happy to go Marnus or Dorff, any other votes out there?

Kept Marnus rather than Dorff. Didn't have enough time/support to justify a change - yes he was next in the poll, but only with 3 votes from 24 voters (and Marnus was not an option). Not overwhelming support there.

Final team for the round:

I meant to mention for the next double - Khawaja looks more viable/appealing than I had thought.

Somehow he seems to have only averaged around 30 SC in his last two full BBL seasons, while scoring heaps of T20 runs at a fast strike rate, and pretty consistently year by year, based on this:

Basically if you take out CY20 (in which he still managed to play a lot of games, despite the pandemic), he’s a 30+ @ 140 type of player, which looks quite attractive.

He was another I was looking at for my team (went Marnus ). Strong option for sure.

I saw a good point about Khawajas 2020-2021 season is that he had a lot of off field distractions with his brother. This could’ve contributed to his poor form
