I just want to stress and avoid this ending up being my team for the remaining 3 rounds, I have my Flying Horses as that outlet.

You just need to answer the following questions, then hopefully the path forward will reveal itself:
  • Do you intend to use all of the remaining 10 trades?
  • Are any of MShort/Abbott/Sams (if traded in this round) tradeable in R12/13? Sacrifice one of Scorchers/Heat/Hurricanes
  • What is your preferred DGR split for R12/13?
  • Do you want the ability to VC/C loop in R12? Handscomb trade
  • Do you want Behrendorff for R12? Trade in this round
  • List your Heat targets in order of preference and just select 2/3 that fit within the R12 budget.
If what I've posed above is in line with your current thinking, then there's not much that's needed to be done from hereon to be honest. Outside of any unexpected surprises at announcement of team's XI then the path forward is pretty clear and I'm confident that you can steer this team to the finishing line without too much fuss.
My take on these questions:

- Definitely
- Not preferred, but an option
- I prefer to get as many as possible, so long as the last one in is of decent quality (expected scoring of 40 per game at a minimum). Not so worried about setting the split in advance, but more in R12 is likely because we have two teams to choose from.
- Yes
- Yes
- From the top I would say something like Neser, Bazley, Marnus, Khawaja and now Renshaw. Fortunately we have two already.

Ok, it seems most are wanting to get Dorff and Sams in this round, and most common trade out options are Kerr and Lynn. This leaves us with $19,500 for trade 3. We are a bit over 30K short by trading out Carey instead of Lynn before the third trade as Herbie suggested.

Making those trades leaves a team of the following:

Happy to leave the last trade until after tonight's match to see if we bring in another loop or something else.

Any thoughts/changes?

Currently 7/3 DGR players in Rd 12/13, 7 trades left after this round to improve on that. This seems reasonably similar to most other teams.

Edit: I assume we want Short VC? Not entirely sure on E's / non playing bench, but happy with these for tonight.

Swap Short to bat with Hardie , otherwise if Head works you would need to bench one of Behrendorff , Ellis or Tye

I’m happy with the E and VC here.

Co*** is supposed to be bat friendly, but rain is a potential issue today (60% overall - but with a skew to the morning), so looping Head and Carey may be safer/a good use.

Carey (E) worked out extremely well.

Would certainly be doing the Bancroft - > Handscomb (hopefully he is still rehabbing his injury) trade personally.

Be nice if Connolly played and we could get a extra $ 10k out of him.

Probably should be deciding if Neser & Bazley are our preferred Heat options for next round.

I’ve just brought in Handscomb as a WK donut as well (it also gave me Short’s VC, but could be handy in future rounds).

My Heat targets in order would probably be Neser, Bazley, Renshaw and maybe a bat (good draw/pitches for bats).

A WKP donut seems very logical for our final trade, we just need to confirm who to trade out (to Handscomb??). We have 4 possibilities - all 4 have a DGR to come.

Presuming we lock in Short VC with this new trade in too?
Definitely lock in the VC.

I think we can trade anyone who hasn’t locked out, given Sams’ DPP.

He’s actually the one I’d look to trade though, given no double.

Alternately Connolly’s utility is declining, and McDermott could be brought back in later at a lower price.

Carey is on the WKP bench, we need a donut keeper to access his score.

If we trade Sams out (just traded him in) won't that mean we would still need to trade out a third player as well though ?

Lynn - > Behrendorff
Kerr - > Sams - > X
Y - > Z

If X is another Scorcher then is Z a Hurricane ? 🤔

6th Scorcher would likely mean 10 DGR players + the best score from Short or Abbott

That doesn't help for the WK donut though

Getting more & more confusing
