Current team. Made one additional trade (Khawaja to Crawley - currently 4th in the poll). Recommending the final trade is Labuschagne to Dooley (3rd in poll), if playing, Jewell (5th) if not.

Sounds good to me!

I quite like the idea of Wade/David if the Canes bat first or Ellis if they bowl first for VC.

This looks good to me, pending teams and weather.

Flagging that trading Labu to Dooley means our ins are locked (should still be able to update outs) but I am fine with that, and see Dooley x 2 as very attractive.

I did some analysis earlier and plan to VC David if they’re batting first and Dooley otherwise, based on splits, so they would be my vote. Both are similar to my original suggestions of Wade/Ellis, but in better form.

Id always rather the VC be a pace bowler if thats the path we go down, just have the surge and death advantage over a spinner as well as hes scored to date, David is a very good option regardless of the toss if hes batting one spot higher though.

Can still loop on Renshaw/Bazley if Short/Abbott fail.

Hopefully David does well as VC, at least we can see both his matches before captaining Sams if it's a score not worth locking in.

Good luck to everyone with your own teams, and thanks a lot to everyone who has contributed to date. Possibly one or two decisions to go with loops/captaincy, but we've pretty much done all we can - it's up to the players now how we finish up.

1/507 from 9 SI.

97 from Abbott, presuming we loop that on field.

Currently locking in the 49 from David (VC).

Sort of related, I am not planning on starting the AFL combined team thread until some time over the long weekend (I'm taking Friday off), despite AFL SC opening in less than an hour. I'll let this round finish first rather than having the two topics running at once. Hope to see a lot of you there, and also really hoping to see more people participating too.

For those interested, the MPM topic will likely open some time over the long weekend too. I honestly thought it would be very quick to setup this year, but didn't count on an extra round being added, completely mucking up my scoring spreadsheet. Quite a few formulas need to be adjusted, it's not as simple as just adding a column for the new round unfortunately. The rules won't be changing from last season if you want to make a head start on your team. ;)

Good start!

Agreed re both David and Abbott.

Keen to see how this works in AFL. I think it will be easier, but we have set a pretty high bar if it is to be more successful!
