I was going to have a sneaky VC on Wade, but that would mean I only had 5 players (1 Blue).

Just so there is no confusion, because it seems there may be.

The reason the blues (1-8) are not on today's form is because they were locked in yesterday. These remain constant, and you can select both, either or none of them as day 2 C and VC

Of the 8 green winners today you must select 4 of them. They are the only players on today's form.

If you want to switch any of the 4 you choose out of the 8, losing the bonus if they were selected yesterday, that is entirely your decision. That's the strategy part of the competition. The 4 you choose can also be part of your C and VC decisions.

The form is time stamped so if you need to re-enter based upon being unclear then that is fine.

I'm now at my destination so unfortunately that's all I can be involved in today, but I think that clears it up.

Good stuff.

I'm keeping an eye out but that will slowly deteriorate throughout the day.

I have no eyes on the forms as I only have phone use.

I apologise to all for the quick nights getaway. Just wanted to take the opportunity at a quick runaway after having to be so switched on to the BBL for 6 weeks.

I will be committed to ensuring we are smooth from here on out.

Round 1 - 18.5 points - 4.25 off lead - sitting 5th

Round 2 - 39.25 points = 3rd for the Round - now 10.25 off the lead.

but somehow managed with a 3rd placing, to drop from 5th to 6th???!!!


edit - LOL, in fact it seems almost implausible, 3rd finish + 5th finish = 6th overall!!!

Is 2023 the time for Chizzy? A six time losing finalist with his most recent defeat at the 2022 staging of the Masters in the final against Joe Cullen. Another of his six losses occurred at the 2016 staging against Michael Van Gerwen.

Averages in all events since 1st October 2022:

Results at televised events since 1/10/22:
European Championship: Lost 7-10 to Dobey in the Quarter Final (98.74 vs 104.63)

Grand Slam= Eliminated in Round Robin stage. Averaged 100+ in 2 of his three matches with Barney and Price progressing from his group.

Players Championship= Lost 4-6 to Scott Williams in the second round (102.56 avg vs Scott’s 93.04)

World Championship= Third round exit 2-4 to Stephen Bunting (101.82 vs 102.24)

Dirk and Dobey still a chance after the exit of Chisnall. Was tempted to hedge this quarter final and drop M Smith but have decided against it.

I really like being on the bottom and having to throw the kitchen sink at the last day to improve my position. I considered not taking Smith, but I didn't want to give up all my chances at the bonus.

I highly doubt it happens tonight, but I wouldn't bet against it all year...someone goes from last to near first based upon just taking the last day on and being successful.

We saw last year that the QF stage onwards is the most important day/s. It offers the most points by far.

I really like the points system change from this regard.

Everyone having to lock in the blue selections on the first day is a mistake on my part, for 2 reasons.

1) I think it made yesterday confusing when it didn't need to be.

2) We might have seen a bit more diversity in the selection of the blue players heading into day 2 based upon our positions on the leaderboard. I mentioned yesterday that I probably wouldn't have taken both Smith and MvG based upon bringing up the rear.

I think going forward the best way is to make player selection available when they enter. I think it will get the best out of the 10-1 points system.

Either that or initial selection covers the opening two rounds (which I actually thought it did as otherwise why were we selecting any blue players?).

Loving getting some points as I felt my extremely poor start last year really set up my losing year.

It was never intended to cover 2 rounds.

The only time this was a thing was at the World Champs when the 3rd round was still running when the 4th round started.

Otherwise it's just a day by day, or round block (like today QF through to Final) process as it has been since the competition started.

I just thought locking the blues in from the off would be easier. Given it created confusion it wasn't. And given I'm not confused as I'm running the competition, if I can save confusing you guys then it's a bit more obvious to just do that
