Sometimes this game - NFL and NFL Fantasy - is totally unpredictable.
Henry rushing for 238yds with 4 x TDs and 95 points was totally unpredictable when his previous best was 58yds with 2 x TDs and 35 points. Kittle with 210yds and 1 x TD for 61 points in the first half was unexpected yet not totally surprising. But to have no receipts, no yards and zero points in the second half was pretty weird. Brate scoring 2 x TDs against a NO defense which had given up only 1 x TD to TEs in the previous 12 games was surprising.
But Josh Johnson takes the cake.
Johnson is a 7th year pro who has been with 12 different NFL teams. Prior to the week-end he had a grand total of 29 games to his credit with his most recent game in 2013 when he played 2 games for Cincinnati. He was only signed by Washington last week, 5 days before the game. He learnt his team-mates names by playing Madden. He wasn't necessarily expected to play.
The Redskins had lost both 1st and 2nd choice QBs with broken legs and so started their 3rd choice Sanchez in rnd.14.
Sanchez throwing went 6/14 for 38yds with 5 sacks,2 interceptions and a pick 6. He had no rushing yards. He scored -1 fantasy points. He lasted one drive into the 3rd qtr and was replaced by Johnson.
Johnson throwing went 11/16 for 195yds with 0 sacks, 1 interception and 1 x TD. Rushing he went for 45 yds and 1 x TD. He scored 50 fantasy points in around 32% game time. Translate that to a full game - which is always unwise - and that's 400+yds throwing and 100+yds rushing.
He was the 3rd ranked QB for the week behind only Prescott and Brady who both had 52 points. The fact Johnson had been with coach Gruden at Cincinnati and Tamp Bay would have helped him acclimatize, but even so........
