Three things excites me the most as I prepare for another tilt at a Supercoach season:
1. Waiting for SC to open so I can begin to build my preliminary team based on players which I've bookmarked towards the end of the previous season.
2. Hunting and watching training reports, lead up games, etc. to identify the most viable Rookies on offer to form the building blocks of my starting team & structure.
3. Eagerly anticipate @Rowsus release of SCS league allocations...hoping and praying that I'm still part of this wonderful league!

A BIG WARM WELCOME to all coaches, old and new, to what should be another engrossing instalment of SCS Premier League for season 2020. Our league is not only 'Premier' by name, but also by reputation. The pillar and strength of our league is not merely reliant on the overall achievement of our high ranking coaches, rather it's the camaraderie which one experience which differentiate our league from the rest.

Thanks to @Rowsus hard work, below are the 18 deserving coaches who'll get that 'Premier' league experience for season 2020.

1582584903562.png

Unfortunately, we farewell @Deeman1 @Brettthejett @Darkie @Philzsay and @KLo30 as they will form part of the newly created SCSP2 league.

Taking their places will be returning SCS PL coaches of yester years in @Erich1036 @Ricky Bobby (both from CL) and @PC (from Div2); and inaugural SCS PL coaches in [?] @madmunza (from CL) and @Tails (from Div5).

So without further ado, let the banter begins...

Mentioned this in the P2 thread, but we have discussed behind closed doors attempting to spread the load with regard to previews/reviews. If you'd be happy to be involved please say I.

There is no expectation with regard to content so whatever you come up will be appreciated i'm sure. I've already told Thanh (as others did) that i'll get involved but will not be able to match his lofty standards!

So great to be back in this fantastic league once again!!

As Thanh said, sad to see some old friends leave the league this season (@Deeman1 @Brettthejett @Darkie @Philzsay and @KLo30 ).
But also welcome to the best league on the planet to the new coaches (@Erich1036 @Ricky Bobby @PC @madmunza @Tails)... You are in for a treat being back in this fantastic league again or maybe here for the first time!!

I also echo IDIG in that we just have to beat PL2 this year, It would be beyond embarrassing to be beaten by these young upstarts in their first season as a league, lol

I'll put my hand up to contribute a few previews or reviews when time permits. Not that good at making them flashy like Thanh but I'll give it a shot again.

Hope to add my name to the SCS PL Hall Of Fame this year!!

Great to be back. I know this is not an Us vs Them thing but lets just make sure we finish higher than the other mob (aka P2 league) :ROFLMAO:

Not us v them, hey, lol. I think you might have just started something ;).

'Young Upstarts', lol, nothing like adding some fuel to the fire :p.

Sounds like it might be on and just remember you guys started it when you have your butts kicked by SCSPL2 :ROFLMAO:

Its good to be BACK BABY!!!.... The CL was as great experience last season, but this feels just like coming home.

I especially missed the banter which being a member of this League allows and I'm also keen to recapture my form of 2 seasons ago and hopefully go one better  ...Having said that, this is always such an incredibly competitive league that I'll be happy just to make the top 8 and then take it from there one week at a time :p

Good luck to everyone and Llllllets Get Ready to Rrrrrrruuuuummmmmble :devilish:

I’m also honoured to be back and looking forward to another competitive year of PL matchups and round reviews. It’s funny how I pay much closer attention to my PL matchups over my cash leagues.

As flagged, I’m keen to help out to share the load of the round review wraps (hopefully can at least get somewhat close to matching the level of analysis of THCLT). My availability is better for the first half of the season so I will put my hand up for a few of the pre bye write ups!

Good luck to all with your starting sides, may you all swing the right way with your XYs.

Have taken a shot at the odds for the 2020 Season... Hope you enjoy!!

2020 SCS Premier League Odds

$3.50 - Bomber18
Bomber18 once again tops the preseason odds. The 2016 Premier League Winner looked to have one hand on the cup throughout most of last season. However once the Preliminary Finals arrived, and boasting home ground advantage, The Jibrangers where jumped by the ever consistent Jaca’s Attackers who went on to win it all. Rumors around the clubrooms where the Jibrangers got a bit ahead of themselves and let an opportunity slip. Have regrouped in 2020 and look primed to make up for last season.
Form: 55 (2019), 228 (2018), 3,775 (2017), 530 (2016)

$3.85 - jaca
Drawing comparisons to the Western Bulldogs of 2016, A good but non-convincing regular season saw The Attackers started the finals in 6th spot easily accounting for the Muppets F.C. But it was the Semi Final that was truly impressive knocking over the highly fancied Goodie’s Guns. This certainly got the Football world’s attention and set up a mouth-watering Prelim against The Jibrangers in which Jacca’s Attackers came out firing and shocked them to move on to the Big Dance. Here we witnessed one of the great Grand Finals in history which came right down until the final minutes and resulted in Jaca’s first Premiership. Will be very tough to beat in 2020… But now the Attackers are the Hunted!! Can they do what no other team has managed to do and go back to back?
Form: 2,358 (2019), 5,112 (2018), 4,020 (2017), 1,400 (2016)

$4.25 - Goodie's Guns
A blistering regular season from Goodie’s Guns set themselves up for a real crack at their maiden Premiership in 2019. However things fell apart in a big way with the Guns going out in straight sets without firing a shot (See what I did there, lol) proving regular season records mean nothing once the Finals arrive. This triggered a mini review for a club that is always used to being at the top. The review looked to improve player management during the season in a bid to go all the way in 2020. Regarded as one the absolute best coaches in the competition, Coach Tim will be hard to beat in 2020 with the lessons he learned in 2019.
Form: 253 (2019), 402 (2018), 7,008 (2017), 1,940 (2016)

$5.00 - Courtesans
The surprise packet of 2019, Courtesans stormed through the regular season with an impressive 12-5 record. But as finals arrived… He kicked it up yet another gear and was definitely the team the public was rooting for to win it all. Coach Keith threw everything at it in the Grand Final but unfortunately came up just short going down by just 27 in one of the all-time classic Grand Final’s. Has beefed up the high performance department in 2020 and word is they have undergone some high altitude training to try gain that extra edge in 2020. Will Courtesans take it that one step further in 2020 and win it all?
Form:
1,250 (2019), 5,364 (2018), 36,407 (2017), 755 (2016)

$6.00 - madmunza
After failing to make the finals in the Champions League in 2019, madmunza finds himself in the Premier League in 2020. A very consistent team, always in the very top bracket of coaches. You can count on coach Matt’s team being a very real threat in 2020. May need to inject some new tactics into the game plan to dominate in the Premier League though. Sleep on them at your own peril.
Form:
2,919 (2019), 178 (2018), 4,909 (2017), 2,996 (2016)

$6.75 - Tails
Another newcomer to the Premier League, Tails surprised all in 2019 and had an outstanding year in Division 5, falling just short of making the Grand Final with a nail biting Prelim loss. It’s a big step up to the Premier League… But coach Adrian looks to have a few tricks up his sleeve spending a large chunk of the off-season learning new tactics in the NBA with one of the most successful teams. What new tricks will he have learned in a stellar o***eason abroad?
Form:
344 (2019), 7,280 (2018), 4,297 (2017), 1,681 (2016)

$9.25 – Erich1036
After going down in the Champions League Grand Final last year, Coach Caleb finds his team back in the familiar Premier League after a year away. This demotion will certainly leave fire in his belly and we should expect him to burst out of the gates to start 2020. The bookies have surely got this one wrong, Looks very tasty as this price.
Form: 3,565 (2019), 811 (2018), 15,666 (2017), 2,105 (2016)

$11.00 - Blaze
Bowing out in an away Semi Final in 2019 and not having the kind of year he hoped. Coach Tom will be looking for a response from his troops in 2020. Very Up & Down from year to year, some might even say Jekyll & Hyde like… Blaze looks set for a huge 2020 if past form is an indicator. Thus looking like a good investment at $11.00. Be on the lookout for a much improved team!!
Form: 10,732 (2019), 1,386 (2018), 7,572 (2017), 2,509 (2016)

$13.00 – Ben’s Beasts
2019 was nothing short of a disaster for the mighty Ben’s Beasts. After claiming his maiden Premiership in 2018, Big things where expected of Coach Ben’s team for 2019… But he instead joined that illustrious group of coaches that wins a premiership & then fails to even make finals the next year. This has seen coaches get sacked in past, but the Front office is sticking put with their man convinced they can right the ship in 2020. You don’t just fluke a Premiership after all. Jump on at this price.
Form:
8,440 (2019), 664 (2018), 20,758 (2017), 14,364 (2016)

$14.50 – Ricky Bobby
No stranger to the Premier League, Ricky Bobby finds himself back after a year in the Champions League where he was bundled out of the finals in straight sets after securing the double chance. A stellar 2018 campaign saw Coach James lead his team to the minor Premiership and onto the PL Grand Final, but was unable to get the job done against Ben’s Beasts. Looks to be training the house down this pre-season though, and these odds are surely too low for a coach of this quality?
Form: 9,462 (2019) 875 (2018) 5,380 (2017), 6,335 (2016)

$15.00 - LITS
Another surprise packet last year, after two uncharacteristically bad seasons… LITS rose from the scrap heap to make the Preliminary Final in 2019 and go within a whisker of making the Grand Final. At the end of 2018 many where questioning if a full blown rebuild was needed for the Bandits. But the man out West bounced back to his pre-2017 form and looks on the rise once again. Another coach to take himself to the NBA in search of the secret formula over the off-season, Will he have picked up some new tricks?
Form: 3,357 (2019) 27,908 (2018) 31,054 (2017), 3,690 (2016)

$17.85 - Creeker
Have the bookies gone mad? The Premier League’s only two time winning coach, at a crazy $18.00… Surely this is a misprint? Coach Pete narrowly missed the finals in 2019, after also missing the finals in 2018 after being elevated to the Champions League. This is not what the fans expect. The word rebuild has been thrown around but senior figures are not willing to sack the champion coach just yet, instead backing in his skill and ability to turn the ship around. If I had a spare $50… this is where my money would be going, looks too good to be true at this price.
Form: 10,431 (2019) 21,524 (2018) 151 (2017), 2,313 (2016)

$20.00 - IDIG
Another uncharacteristic couple of seasons from this highly regarded team, Coach Mike often looked tired in the coaches box in 2019 and his team looked a little sloppy onfield. After fantastic 2016 & 2017 seasons where he was Runner-up both years… Some are questioning if he has lost his players? Too risky at the moment to put down your cold hard cash. Monitor early season form to see how the team looks before jumping on.
Form: 30,110 (2019) 32,098 (2018) 1,895 (2017), 4,853 (2016)

$22.50 - Maso
A fan favourite, Coach Craig had a good 2019 but lost in the first week of the finals to eventual Premier Jaca, No shame in that. The players just love to play for this man, knowing he likes to use his full complement of players. Quite often he has burnt through his playing list early in the season, so players know they will get a game at Muppets F.C. Looks to be an important year for Coach Craig, and whispers are he has some fancy tactics up his sleeve for 2020 that he’s been keeping quiet at closed training sessions.
Form: 12,296 (2019) 14,748 (2018) 7,321 (2017), 2,154 (2016)

$25.00 - PC
Another returning Premier League coach, Coach Jack wouldn’t be happy with the way the last few seasons have gone. Injuries have hit PC hard at times and robbed them of a genuine shot at the Premiership. Could PC be the big improver of 2020? There are usually a couple of teams who surprise and jump up the ranks each year… I’m betting Coach Jack’s team will be one of them. Worth a punt at these juicy odds.
Form: 10,841 (2019) 6,784 (2018) 14,974 (2017) 72 (2016)

$26.75 - THCLT
A genius and tactical mastermind. Coach Thanh lives and breathes stats. The pioneer of looking to other sports for possible advantages, He aligns himself with very the best Soccer & Cricket teams to try gain every possible advantage in the off-season, arming himself will as much knowledge as humanly possible. Respected by all and considered an integral part of the Premier League, It’s only a matter of time before the Flying Horses rise to the top.
Form: 26,912 (2019), 4,161 (2018), 9,307 (2017), 15,799 (2016)

$29.00 – doc ron
2019 didn’t quite go to plan for Coach David and his Badboys. Had a number of unlucky losses during the season that made it hard for him to make the finals. But don’t sleep on this man, He has his team looking first class in the 2020 pre-season and is eager to make his mark and punish anyone foolish enough to write him off. Is loved by all and is the man you call when you want to go for a beer or two. It will all come together for the Badboys at some stage and when it does… watch out. Worth a flyer at $29.00 and could pay off in spades.
Form: 14,443 (2019), 36,332 (2018), 20,872 (2017)

$34.00 - Impromptu
No stranger to the wooden spoon favoritism, The champ is criminally underrated by the bookies. Narrowly making the finals in 2019 but not doing any real damage. Coach Jay is a tactical mastermind often coming up with out-of-the-box structures. But this way of thinking has not paid off in recent years and has left many at his club questioning if he is the man to take them forward and weather more conventional thinking is needed. In saying that, he is the most likely to come out and surprise us all so you could do worse than throw a few dollars on at this price.
Form: 36,693 (2019), 47,923 (2018), 21,707 (2017), 14,753 (2016)

A-grade write up LiTS!

I think you are being generous with my odds, would have myself probably another $8-$10 out. Mind you, you missed my 2016 rank = 72 ;)

Damn, Bomber18 definitely should be the favourite, some great results there!
