Yikes

After the good fortune of Shami & Head , I am now relying on Smudge as captain , no better time for a century than the WC Final 😀

Iyer , SKY , Siraj
Smudge , Starc , Hazlewood

Need 3-4 early wickets then Iyer & SKY to do the rescue act

India have won the toss and batting first , all eyes on Rohit as to how far he makes the coin land and if Cummins checks whether it is Heads or Tails 😉 (unless he is part of the conspiracy as well)

Interesting we had them 3/2 in the Group game and Bison should've caught Kohli not long after.

Points Comp
Marton Gross did in fact time his run perfectly and somehow managed to find a ticket on the Travis Head captaincy train to place 4th for the final game and cruise home by a convincing 279 points. @Rowsus was also aboard that train to top the rankings for last night and climb into 2nd place overall (from 4th). Anoosha Evans placed 6th last night and will have to be content with 3rd despite leading for the vast majority of the comp. Finally @Darkie finished a very convincing last place to get his money back after languishing in that region for most of the comp. However the man of the hour is Marton Gross who was placed 56th (of 72) after game 1, dropped as low as 64th after game 5 and was still only 53rd after game 17. That was the start of his run as he improved to 9th overall by game 30, got to 3rd by game 36 and remained into the top 5 until game 46 where he took the lead for the first time and then held it for the last 2 games.

Sections Comp
Marton's strong run at the end also saw him win the sections final by 69 points over Tim Preston (who also had Head as captain last night) with @Rowsus 169 points further back in 3rd. It was not supposed to happen where 2 of the top 3 in each comp where the same person so back to the old drawing board on that one.

Thanks to all those who participated and hopefully it kept you entertained for the last 6 weeks. I doubt many would have expected that we would get to this point and see the Aussie’s holding up the cup for a 6th time given the form they brought into the tournament.

Would different teams for the Section Finalists work or does that just complicate things ? (doesn't guarantee the same people appearing in the Final Top 3 for each competition though)

Thanks for running the comp again Mark, very enjoyable. I've never finished this high while on auto pilot. 😁

When I saw that I had drawn Kohli, Starc and Cummins, I thought I was in trouble, but fortunately I’d done enough earlier in the tournament, and managed to hold on. Happy to take my bad luck in this comp, and hoping that it all averages out elsewhere over the coming year 🙂

Thanks very much to @Beg2Differ for running the comp, it is always good to follow and makes things more interesting.
