Four teams beat the Cats in 2022 on their run to the flag (Sydney, Hawthorn, Fremantle and St Kilda).
The only one of those four to beat either grand final team in 2023 is Hawthorn. They beat both grand finalists this year.
Based on this, maybe clubs need to lose to the Hawks if they want any shot at winning the flag.
