Competitions 2023: Midprice Madness Competition

By popular demand, it's back for a third iteration.

This competition has been held twice before. Previous winners are @wogitalia (2021 champion) and @Couch Coach (2022 champion). Can one of these repeat, or will be adding a third name to that list in 2023?

Rules are identical to last year, however this year I will be trialling entry via a Google Form. I have never used these before, so hopefully this works OK. The entry form can be found below:

I will be accepting your most recent entry only. If I have set this up right, it should email you a copy of your selections.

Rules:

• Open to anyone with no cap on the number of entries - one team per person.
• All players in your team must be priced between $200,000 and $450,000 (inclusive).
• You must select at least one player from each of the 18 teams in the league and may not select more than two players from any team. There is no trading, the players you choose at the start of the season you will have in your team all year, so pick wisely.
• The usual $10,000,000 budget and 8/11/3/8 structure applies to your team. Any team found to have exceeded this cap amount once the season commences will have players removed, starting with the highest priced players until the team drops below this amount (I will review teams prior to the season starting and advise of errors, this rule should really only apply to any last minute entries I don't get to review in time).
• All entries to be sent via the Google Forms link above. If you want to make a change to your team before the deadline, your latest entry will be the one entered in the competition.

Scoring:

• Scoring will be similar to the Lock and Load competition run by @Beijing_Sting. Your best 16 scoring players (using SC scoring) will count each round, with the best score doubled as a captain score automatically - no need to set emergencies and captains each week. One you have entered your team, that's all you need to do for the season.
• The competition will run from Round 1 to Round 24 only. I'll post regular updates of how your team is going throughout the season. Scores will be cumulative throughout the season, but I'll also list which team top scores each round.

I recommend selecting your team outside of the Google Form, either via SC, Excel, pen and paper - or whatever method works best for you, before picking the selections on the form itself. It's not the most user friendly form unfortunately, but hopefully it does the job.

Download the Excel file and you can keep your MPM team separate from your Classic. Ensuring your team is compliant for players and salary.

If there's any questions, please let me know. It's surprisingly challenging to put together your side, despite seeming very straight forward, which I think is part of the appeal.

Hi I.H, I'm having a bit of trouble, it doesn't seem to be saving players as I select them, it seems to be unselecting the last one picked when I pick the next one. Also Tyler Brown isn't available in the mids, cheers.

Thanks, I'll look at fixing it tonight, I won't have time until then unfortunately. I expected there might be issues, I was having a lot of issues setting the form up. Maybe Rev 4 will work properly, the first two versions were much worse...

Edit: Looks like I used the wrong question type, forgot to change it when setting it up, should be a fairly easy fix hopefully.

There could be a few omissions, I used the data from the Team Picker to set this up, I think Brown was added later. If anyone else picks up other missing entrants, please let me know. I'll add him in tonight.

The form should hopefully now be working correctly, and I have added Brown (at the end of both the Mid / Fwd lists).

Put an entry in the form mostly just to make sure it's working. Likely to change multiple times before season starts!

I actually cleared my team so I could get the players I wanted to make sure they fit in the salary cap. That's after I wrote down on paper all the players I would want to pick from so yeah, it takes awhile.
I ended up with $1200 left over

I do the same thing, can filter by club and price and whatever, which is handy.
Once I have my team I screenshot it but don't save my changes on the SC site. Can easily recreate it in a minute or two to make adjustments as needed.

Just wondering what happens if we lose more than 14 players in the season.
Are replacements allowed?

The cheapies look a lot weaker this year than the past couple to me which definitely makes it harder, to be fair the ~400k guys also seem kind of weak so balances out a bit.

Nope, teams lock from round 1. Pretty rare to happen and good chance if you do hit that level others will also, there's generally about 12-15 of the players that end up in basically all the sides.
