Well done to @warewolves for finishing the season with the final weekly win ahead of @Raaraab and @xanderdom.

To the surprise of nobody who has been following along in recent weeks, @Wheedus is officially this years champion, in quite dominant fashion, joining @wogitalia and @Couch Coach as a winner of this competition. @mfchamp hangs onto second place overall, with the ever present Cookie Monster rounding out the podium. Well done.

Congratulations to all of the winners this season, and especially to our overall champion @Wheedus. I continue to be amazed at the popularity of this competition year after year, and thank everyone who entered - I definitely did not expect to ever get 59 entries when I started this competition a few years ago and I'm very humbled that so many have decided to give it a go, and that there are quite a few who have joined multiple times now. I hope you all enjoyed the competition, no matter how well you did, and I hope to see a lot of you again when this returns in 2024.

Thanks for the reminder, I knew I had forgotten to mention something important.

Thank you very much @Beg2Differ for the accompanying spreadsheet most weeks, it's great verification that the scores are accurate. I can't guarantee there are zero errors in my scoring, as I manually enter every score myself, but it's always a relief to see our scores seem to line up. As I've had some very busy times this year with work, and rushed a lot of the weekly updates, this has been a great way to check for errors. Thanks for all the effort you put into this.

Thanks for running this @Ironhawk. I got lucky with a couple of unique picks who went big for most of the season. Newman was a risk at $441k+ but the punt paid off. Played 21 at an average of 100.2 and finished off the season with an average of 125.8 over the past 5.

Great to take home the chocolates on my first go. Need to back it up now!

Thought I'd post the side. Just ran the numbers to look at which were the better picks.

It's an interesting question. Some players shot the lights out in terms of season average v what they were priced at (eg Ashcroft, Worpel, Flanders and Day) but they were in a lot of teams so the upside wasn't necessarily there.

Newman was definitely the stand out in terms of performance and uniqueness. Ash was also a good pick on that front and played all 23 games.

Florent and Baker were the "get what you pay for" picks. Played all 23 and delivered their average.

Fyfe was a fail but that didn't really impact because everyone had him. Tom Powell was probably the only really bad pick in terms of games and average. Crozier was probably a fail but at $218k, didn't really matter.

All in all, a pretty decent team, which also made $1.8 million in the process

That is a ridiculous effort to have every pick be basically on par or better - the only genuine miss, Fyfe, being an absolute no-brainer at the start of the season. Well played sir!

@Wheedus Very cool mate, well played!
Just wondering if you had a sheet you're willing to share, as I'd love to analyse my own squad too.

Would also be neat to see which combo would have been the ideal starting squad.
I do but it's linked into my main spreadsheet for SC so a little hard to extract. Also, some of the stuff for the MPM team (starting price) was manual entry so I only have my own players.

@Beg2Differ may be best placed for determining the ideal squad when he is back from holiday, he is good at figuring it out. I'd only be able to provide a team based on season averages, rather than round by round scores.

I am very interested in this myself @MC's Mix and will work it out when I get back to Australia in a few weeks.
