I think Im leaning towards Witts and English, least you know if they are on the park they'll be in the Ruck, not sure you can say the same about majority of the other options.

I like Marshall but the more decimated their forward line gets the more likely it is he plays there and they just blood one of their young Rucks for mine.
Which one of their young rucks? Who do they have? Is Max Heath AFL ready? It's not like their ruck stocks are great either.

I wouldn't have thought either were ready for consistent senior footy but Lyon must have some plan Im going to watch their pre season games pretty closely, no train on Ruck yet Campbell is battling an Achilles that never seems to get any better and Hayes is out for 10 weeks.

Only key forwards they have fit now are Membrey and Sharman and neither are even suited to being the main man.

Could Cordy go forward and pinch hit to allow Marshall to swing? They got him to strengthen their defence though so not sure what they are going to do.

Fremantle’s playing group were put through their paces in their fifth match simulation of 2023 on Wednesday.

Sean Darcy spearheaded a midfield of Caleb Serong, Matthew Johnson and Will Brodie for Team Purple while Liam Reidy led Team Grey’s midfield of Andy Brayshaw, Jaeger O’Meara and Neil Erasmus.

Read up below on how some of the players fared.

Liam Reidy
The first-year ruckman was set a task as the main opposer to Freo's lead rucks in Sean Darcy and Luke Jackson across the morning. Reidy competed hard and impacted the scoreboard with an impressive set shot goal from a tight angle.

Caleb Serong
At his usual impactful best, winning a number of clearances and driving the ball inside 50, notably setting up Lachie Schultz’s second goal of the day.

Hugh Davies
It was our first look at what Davies can do, participating in his first match sim of the year. Was responsible for a handful of kick-ins for Team Purple, while he also looked comfortable in the contest and laid a couple of good tackles to hold up play.

Michael Walters
Threw his body at everything and was an important extractor out of the contest, releasing plenty of handballs out to his teammates running on the outside. Won his 50/50 contests.

Travis Colyer
Played the role of the link up player perfectly, sending a number of kicks inside 50 for his side to create scoring opportunities. Capitalised on a Team Grey turnover at the goal line to intercept the ball and dribble through a major from the square.

Jye Amiss
Amiss’ day was highlighted when on the receiving end of a kick to space from Erasmus. Collecting the ball high on the wing and with no player between him and the goals, Amiss seized the opportunity to launch the ball from outside 50 and watch it bounce through the goal. Also won his own ball throughout the day with some strong, clean tackles.

Other mentions -
Jaeger O’Meara: was in a bit of everything and was clean with his use by foot and hand all day.
Will Brodie: imposed himself and used his physicality well.
Neil Erasmus and Matthew Johnson: both given plenty of responsibility and were involved in the contest all day.
Joel Hamling: used his height to impact the contest with some timely spoils.
Hayden Young: consistently at his best when he’s breaking lines off half-back and executing a clean kick to a teammate in the middle.
Bailey Banfield: found the scoreboard a couple of times and competed strongly in dangerous areas.
Matt Taberner: looks to be close to full fitness, led up well to mark strongly and finished with two goals for the day.

Sort of? I have the bruise the size of a football on my left buttock and can still barely sit where I hit a tree day 1, all part of the fun. One other group had a broken rib, broken radius and a severe AC joint injury so yeah I'm pretty lucky.

To think out of thirty years plus of snowboarding I've been wearing a helmet for these last 2 seasons only....I'm an idiot and it was just that my daughter said she wouldn't wear one unless I did that made me get one.
Yikes, sounds a bit hairy, lucky you listened to you daughter, stay away from those trees next time ay

Erasmus and Johnson are getting a hell of alot of midfield responsibility, does look like Longmuir is looking to bat deeper this year.

In today’s West :-

Fremantle star Nat Fyfe won’t play exclusively as a forward, with coach Justin Longmuir saying he won’t hesitate to swing him back into the midfield if needed.

The Dockers will also begin their process of deciding who will captain the club in 2023 as soon as next week, despite a team photo suggesting the Fyfe will retain the role.

Fyfe’s future role has been the cause of much talk around the Dockers this pre-season, with the dual Brownlow medallist appearing to transition into a permanent forward after the emergence of Andy Brayshaw, Caleb Serong and Wil Brodie.

Longmuir said he had been impressed with Fyfe’s ability to adapt to playing as a deep forward, but most importantly he was fit and firing after a tough year with injuries.

“He is a mile ahead of where he was last year, both mentally and physically,” Longmuir told SEN. “He’s really invested in learning that part of the game.

“Clearly going forward we might have the opportunity where we need him in the midfield or times when we need him in the midfield but he’s got 10 to 12 years of knowledge and midfield craft that he can even lean on when he goes in there.

“He did all of the 80 minutes (of match simulation) today and really built throughout. He was one of the more dominant forwards in that in the last 40 minutes of the game. So hopefully he takes some confidence out of that.”

Going to be an interesting journey Nat Fyfe I think. With or without him.

Well we have Membrey :(, Sharman and Mason Wood, we're fine, we're fine everythings fine! LOL
Wilkie's keen to go fwd, Owens has been training forward.
Coffield could cover Wilkie if he goes forward.
I can feel it's gonna be another one of those years at the Saints.

Id probably swing Battle but I also think hes a bloody good defender, no clear answer for the Saints.
