Quick recap of game 2 before I forget:

* Wow, what a rollercoaster Curran was! With the addition of Harshal he looks purely a new ball bowler in this side, which is a poor bowling role, and even worse when you're not getting any swing! On the other hand, they did in fact stick to their guns and bring him out to bat at 4. He looked very tentative to start but then Marsh gave him a couple of freebies and he was away. I don't like the role as much as last year but I think it's still playable. If he doesn't come off, though, Punjab look very unbalanced. There's not a lot behind Livingstone at 6.
* Pant doesn't look like he's lost a step at all, which is absolutely incredible considering what he's come back from. Story of the season already.
* I have to admit I find it very hard to believe that Shai Hope was the best option for Delhi at 3. Maybe asking for JFM would be a bit much but I'm not really sure what Shaw has done wrong? Hope didn't really do anything wrong but it just felt too safe.
* Trust Ponting to be ahead of the game in the use of his impact player - got very unlucky that Ishant got injured later on, but it makes perfect sense that if you can make 20 more than a bowler would, even if the lack of alternatives mean you concede 15 more you're still ahead, with scoreboard pressure into the bargain. Porel sure didn't do his selection chances any harm, either. Maybe he could go to the top!
* Axar and Kuldeep are Delhi's two most important players but can essentially be nullified out of the game if nobody else comes along for the ride. Axar in particular couldn't exert any pressure because of the game situation and without a particularly helpful pitch, that's how he'll need to get his wickets.

Just catching up with everything now, missed the first games lockout as I didn't see the early start. Wouldn't have started Curran had I seen the team sheet but I guess it worked out in the end. Looks like a trade though very soon.
