Tossing up between Horne-Francis and Naish in this format - i pick JHF all day every day in SC but in DT the plus six outside game of a winger who knows where the pill is appeals to me. Leaning towards risking it with Naish with the added bonus of opening up DPP in the mid fwds. Thoughts? At this stage I also have Naish as a back up pending Xerri news

Luckily a lot of these guys don't play until sunday so there is plenty of time to think about it too!

I don't think Covid changes that much, to be honest. Obviously we will be dealing with more outs (including late outs) but the principles of trading are the same. It's far more valuable to use trades to upgrade early, and to build good, flexible cover into your team, than it is to use trades haphazardly to cover individual outs. It's rarely justified to trade a player for a 1-2 week injury and I don't think the fact we're going to be getting more of those kind of outs changes that principle.

Definitely agree that means riding our luck to some extent, but I think that's the only real way to play.
I basically agree. I think the likelihood of Covid outs being a 1 or maybe 2 match out is the key. I wouldn’t normally trade someone for a 1-2 round suspension (ie an out of certain duration) but if it’s a concussion I might, because the duration is less certain, and I may expect them to perform poorly and possibly lose cash when they return. I don’t have a strong sense of how AFL players will perform on return, but in the BBL it seemed to be a limitation for some of them, but not a major obstacle for most. Footy is obviously more physical for many players though.

Where I think it could make a difference is on more marginal calls - a cash cow that’s partly fattened up gets culled a couple of weeks early, or maybe a rookie plays well for a few weeks but then gets Covid and might struggle to regain their spot because an experienced player returns from a separate injury and the window of opportunity closes, that type of thing. It may even lead to a slingshot or two, where a player is a bit underwhelming and has an unscheduled “bye”.

My sense is that the above might lead to perhaps 2-3 extra trades used, so we do have an opportunity to be more aggressive on a net basis, and arguably some of the above scenarios are a bit more aggressive as well.

This is what I have currently. I’m reasonably happy with it, but L Henry is a bit of a random POD as a stepping cow F5.

I have 109,300 in cash, but couldn’t find a better mid priced option/use for the cash (given the value in a Sicily or Crouch).

Would anyone suggest anything different?

I don't follow this format religiously, but have spun the wheel again and landed on the following. Only 7 different players to my SC team.

The Good so far: Lipinski, Martin on-field
The Bad so far: DEF premos, Owens on bench

If you were willing to use your spare cash, Gunston if fit / over injuries is appealing.

Interesting suggestion, thank you!

He was actually one that jumped out to me when I went through the list. I think he’s pretty handy in this format and worthy of consideration.

I checked @wogitalia comments from the pre season games and it seemed he wasn’t playing a great role in the first one.

Wogi, do you have a view on Gunston vs L Ryan vs another forward mid pricer type (up to c. 431k)?

Jamaine Jones from WC shows flashes of brilliance at times, is inconsistent though, but will have a better role with the injuries at WC.

Touk scored 68 against WC last year, what are people expecting he scores today? Obviously a depleted WC assists his scoring. Considering putting the C on him, 120 in the bank with Macrae vc
