If the roof was open he probably gets caught on 16. Sometimes it just doesn’t go your way, but even more so in BBL SC!
And now the same thing happens with Webster on 14!

The roof is really against us tonight. Another factor to put into the mix for future Marvel games 🧮

Trade ins: 25 combined from 3 players.
Trade outs: 194 from 2. 2nd and 3rd top scorers for the round.

Anyone who held Agar can thank us now.

I'll be stunned if we hold rank or improve this round. Could be an absolute shocker.

Can't do much about it now, except nail our C and remaining on field spots. Currently Kerr and Ellis benched, Tye leading the C poll (based on Darkie's vote). Happy to change around however we can. At least Wade is in the early game, would hate him to miss and we had to rely on Lynn as cover. Fully expecting at least one we have on field from the second game to miss based on this round so far, and not being able to cover it.

Do we have McDermott on field ahead of Kerr? If so, I would switch those two (I’ve done the same for my side).

For what it’s worth, Wade does much better when he bats first (34 runs @ 147 vs 20 @ 121), and McDermott does marginally better when he bats second - so this could be handy info for the coming rounds if we are looking at having one on field and the other off.

I do think that Wade is a better player though (better career numbers, and the advantage of the gloves), so I would still err on fielding him most of the time. He also averages 76 SC versus the Thunder, so I would suggest McDermott would be the one to have a spell this week.

Kerr has seemed slightly off the boil (albeit so has McDermott) but does have some hat second string. He may be a better chance of a bat against a good attack in the Scorchers.

Have you seen the poll results?

We do have McDermott on field currently.

Wow, that has swung around! I’ve benched McDermott, he’s my 9th highest averaging player that hasn’t locked out 🙂

He does have a slightly above average record at Blundstone though (around +5 points).

Obviously we can’t bench him if he’s the favoured captain, so ignore my suggestion unless things swing around significantly again.

I think that leaves Wade vs Kerr as the on field decision in the BAT line (without the ability to switch with the BWL line). In that case I’d probably prefer to field Wade given his Thunder record, but it’s a close one ex ante. Maybe that’s one that we can determine on the bat flip, now that I think of it.

@Ironhawk, would you mind posting an image of our setup when you have a moment please?

Looks like it’s a 7:15 tomorrow lockout for next round. We may as well start discussing what to do for that (once any remaining decisions for this round settle).

I think it is on the previous page, but I'll repost it.

I currently have Connolly on field over Ellis as the only change to the above, will set the C closer to the start of the next game to whoever is leading in the poll (haven't changed it from last round).

Thank you.

Is there anyone we would look to bench to get Kerr on field?

At the SCG this season he has scored 104, 57 and 67.

He scored 86 versus Scorchers earlier this season.

I reckon he’s a better chance of getting a hit against the best attack in the comp.

He looked a bit off/maybe fatigued after not being rested during the Sixers’ 7 games in 14 day stretch, but he hasn’t played in a week. I wonder if he could be better for the rest.

Some stats on Co*** Harbour (Sixers vs Strikers venue for Tue). This is the one with the 60% chance of rain, but mainly in the morning.

Two games in Jan-22, one in Jan-20. All Sixers games, in reverse chronological order.

4/151 vs 5/152
1st innings:
5/6 batsmen made 20, but only 2 managed SR points
3/7 bowlers took a wicket (1, 1 and 2 - spinners took 3 of 4)

2nd:
2/7 batsmen scored 35+, others scored <=19
4/6 bowlers took a wicket (2, 1 and 1 to quicks, 1 to spin - wicketless bowlers were one of each, from two overs each)

Abandoned without a ball bowled

6/176 vs 3/180
1st:
7/8 batsmen made 14+ runs, the other was run out. No one exceeded 40, strike rates mixed.
4/5 bowlers took a wicket, but only one took 2.

2nd:
6/6 batsmen scored 10* or better.
Philippe 83*, Avendano (opener) 47.
3/6 bowlers took 1 wicket, others 0 wickets.

The sample here is pretty small, but what I take from the above is that historically, at this ground:

- It’s not too difficult for batsmen to get a start, albeit a lot don’t go on to get big scores. There could be a number of 20s scored. SRs aren’t always high through, even for those who score 20+.

- Bowlers have not taken bags of wickets, with a max of 2 wickets and most taking 0-1. Not a great ground for bowlers, particularly for ceiling.

- Probably don’t use VC (or perhaps C) in this game, unless we really like a matchup.

To me this may open up trading Kerr next round, unless we think he’s going to get a quick 20. He took 1/30 (4) off the game that he played there. It would also reduce our exposure to a rain shortened game, if it went that way. He is unlikely to bat in that scenario, and the Strikers bowlers are not great anyway (unlike the Scorchers today). The Strikers bats are good though, so I’m wondering if he won’t be fielded next round, in which case he could be a trade out option.

I see a new word has been affected by filter changes. :ROFLMAO:
