4 games in 7 days in 4 different states just screams rotation to me, even Sandhu who was clearly their best bowler last year got dropped at the mid point of the tournament, dont think you can pick them with much confidence.
Are you taking Green? I really don’t want to, but likely to have 4 games in the opening 2 rounds, should see 140-160 points

It makes it so difficult. Their matchups compared to all the teams in the doubles in the first 2 rounds are far stronger from a bowling perspective. So the potential reward is there. Thunder could easily take 30 wickets across the first 2 rounds.

Almost tempted to risk Farooqi tbh, even if he got 3 games that’s still ok. 105k is a bargain

Thunder bowlers ownership:
Sams 57% Cutting 21%
Chris Green 10%
Nathan McAndrew 5% Farooqi 3% Sandhu 2% Qadir 1% Doggett 1%
If you own one apart from Sams they have low enough ownership to be a POD but if you don’t own them and they go large they won’t hurt you too much.

I’m pretty sure I’m going to be taking 2 thunder bowlers in addition to Sams. As long as Farooqi is named game 1 he will be in my side. I’ll also have no hesitation trading him round 2 if need be.

Illawarra Mercury article (can't access it in full) saying Nikitaras has a contract with the Thunder.

Honeyball mentioning Ollie Davies brother , Joel

Jono Cook been mentioned , possibly Nair.

Maybe they just announce it when they check who board's the team bus 😀

Hopefully all these players actually get added to the competition before it starts.
Nikitaras confirmed by the Thunder

i find it amusing that there is talk about bowlers being rotated. You bowl 4 overs have a 2-3 day rest and your telling me these professional athletes need a rest and cannot back up for another 4 overs.

SOFT.......
For teams that have multiple bowlers of similar quality it makes a lot of sense. Any players with injury history (Richo, Mills, Dorf), it makes sense for rotation.

For teams like thunder, where they have two different international bowlers and then 3 paceman that offer different strengths (sandhu, McAndrew, Doggett) it makes sense they are rotated based on the pitch and whether Farooqi/Qadir play. I don’t think their rotation will have anything to do with fatigue but pitch conditions. Strikers potentially in this situation too.

NAH Soft.

To many ex cricketers on the coaching panel trying to over think a bat and ball game to justify the salary.

If a first class bowler cannot bowl 16 overs in 7 days he is soft.

The bowling isn’t always the issue, it’s usually the intensity of the fielding and then potentially batting and running hard between the wickets. In longer forms they can be a bit less frenetic and build into a spell. There’s also the case that most bowlers are expected to be at 100% intensity and bowl 1 or 2 over spells as a quick which is probably the worst thing possible for a bowler to stop and start.

People also forget that these guys have played half a season of cricket already and some will have niggles coming into the tournament.
