Player availability will be tough to navigate, especially if internationals are only going to play a couple of games early then chase the cash in the UAE which feels inevitable.

At least it'll be more upfront this year... in theory. Last year Russell wasn't even announced until after the first round when you already wanted to be chock full of Stars...

CricInfo article has the first list of names for the ILT20 , be interesting if Lynn gets a NOC
Cricket.com.au explains why Lynn needs CA clearance to play (ie a NOC) even if he doesn't have a BBL contract (apparently their is a 2 year cooling off period , thought Watson was allowed to play BPL after he retired)
, seem to recall Smith & Warner being allowed to play OS T20 tournaments when they were suspended , seems quite bizarre.

Not sure how the restraint of trade laws work , surely if he doesn't get a BBL contract (been talking to the Strikers) he is entitled to play in another tournament even if it clashes with our local season , I understand players could just sign contracts where they can get more $ but who can blame them for that.

Lots of media reports about local player unrest about how much OS players are getting paid for partial seasons , next MOU is 12 months away , can't see player payments changing significantly without privatisation and IPL ownership involvement.

Warner was apparently signing with the Thunder over the weekend for 5 games for $ 340k plus once they realised CA wasn't going to issue a NOC.

If the clubs even know themselves , I still remember a few seasons ago when the commentators were talking to Ingram and they said it was his last game and he said news to me I still have another 3-4 games left 😀

Even the ones drafted on the 28th might not even be guaranteed to come here at all if they then get bigger offers from the SA & UAE.

Hopefully get them for a 2-3 week stint at least before they leave.

Plenty of easily accessible information out their though these days to keep track of it all.

Interestingly the replacement players need to have also nominated for the draft.

CSA T20 still haven't announced a start date (seen the 12th or 13th January mentioned) let alone when their player auction is taking place.

IPL owners involved won't be drafting Pakistani players by all accounts , NZ rarely release their contracted players (might be different now with IPL ownership involvement in SA/UAE) , Bangladesh are running the BPL at the same time.

Wait and see if their enough players to go around for all these tournaments clashing.

If true, this could be the biggest untold story of the private ownership debate. It's bad enough they're frozen out of the IPL but at least you can understand that from India's perspective. If they were frozen out of the franchise system altogether that would be a crying shame.

Not sure how much "influence" they can have over the 3 other owners of the UAE League , one is the Glaser Group that own Man U , and whether they will still target Pakistani players or not.

Certainly would hope they (Babar & co) get the opportunity to play.

Won't be long that the IPL owners control most of the T20 Leagues in any case , I am sure they will own teams in the USA Major League ready to start next year.

CA need to act or they will quickly be left behind.

Just been dismissed for 55 (51). Looked pretty scratchy, struggling for timing a bit - ironically probably the best shot he hit went straight to deep square!
He wasn’t overly impressive that’s for sure. Bowlers seemed to execute their plans though on a two paced pitch. Goes to show what a dream the wickets are for the big bash though.

Only available for 5 regular season games. Bit of a joke for all the fuss it caused. Easy pay day for Warner.

Have you heard anything whether the Leadership ban has been lifted ?

Once his manager came out 2 weeks ago and said he wouldn't get a NOC , was always going to ask for the $ 340k that the OS players are going to get.

Interesting it is a 2 year deal , who knows whether he will be still part of the National setup next season.

Think it now opens up a can of worms for the white ball Australian specialists asking for more money if they are available for the whole season (rightly so).

Sounds like Smudge has said no , but could still be allowed to play as a replacement player 🤔

Hopefully though it puts more bums on seats for the 5 games.
