What a wild first round. Ended up rank 2385 with a score of 1145. Could've been much better.

Was looking great after the first two games having dodged Clarke and starting Short, Farooqi and Green but ended up being a pretty average round. Shattered I didn't end up with NCN after having him for WEEKS. Was looping Roussow and Gilkes so only ended up with one of their scores on field. Was considering A Agar to CDG to avoid looping Rossouw but didn't go through with it. Wouldn't have changed much.

Current trade plans (already have Inglis, Tye and A Agar from round 1):

M Short -> Faf
C Lynn - > Lyth

Deciding between C Green/Hales/Farooqi -> Jhye

OR

Start Inglis E and if he scores well do C Green/Hales/Farooqi -> Billings via Gilkes to prepare for next round.

Not sure what to do with Hales/Gilkes/Stoin/Rossouw in the coming rounds. Will loop Rossouw again and hope for something better, field Wade if Rossouw does nothing again.
Don't trade Farooqi over someone like Green!

I am considering the Inglis/Gilkes loop as well. I don't have a third keeper, so it influences my trade plans as well. I think it could be a decent option in the right circumstances.

I don't completely hate trading Rashid before Short think it's a closer call than initially anticipated, Short plays the whole tournament and is opening the batting, bowling regularly and fielding in prime positions it's a pretty good role.
Agree - Rashid is a gun, but I think this alternative is probably not getting enough attention because of the brand name. I planned to keep Short and trade Rashid even before their second game, which pushes the BEs in favour of doing so.

Just double thinking Shadab Khan’s role now. Zak Crawley is finishing his intl duties on 21st dec. Once he’s back, Zak should open with Short, pushing Mcd to 3 and Wade to 4. By the time shadab comes to crease, it might be 15-17th over, where it makes sense to send Tim david ahead of shadab. Ending up shadab doing only bowling role. 🤔 I was thinking Dorff vs shadab this round, might now go for the former. Pls feel free to share, if any differential thoughts.

My understanding is that Crawley won't play until Shadab leaves (they did announce him as Shadab's replacement)

I guess if he does arrive early it does give the option of 4 OS to choose 3 from each game though.

Looking at;
1. Wood -> Lyth
2. Siddle -> Jyhe
3. Stoinis -> Webster

This means I will have
Inglis
Sams, Agar, Hales, Lyth, Rossouw
Khan, Tye, Jyhe, Farooqi, Green + Hosein looping for Khan

The Webster switch is my spare trade used for cash plus a much better player to loop given his role - 4 overs plus first drop like wow.
Happy to gamble on Lyth but am torn on using bancroft, not sold on Faf for 180k. Think my strong bowling core can support riskier bat only options. Also holding Clarke till he peaks in price then switching to Phillipe now.
Could you potentially defer the Stoinis and/or Webster moves? No price move this round (Stoinis' DPP may even be handy?) and there may be someone else that will go up in cash, possibly even someone you may want next round anyway?

I am considering the same trade, but there doesn't seem to be much urgency to do it this round. We may know more about Stoin's health then as well.

Round 1 Score: 1066

After several internal battles-
Out: Lynn, Ur Rahman, Wood
In: Dorf, Kuhnemann, Lythw View attachment 50137
Option to loop Rossouw/CDG, get to keep short and rashid and get a BNE player for round 3 DBL.
Happy to take some advice/thoughts on these movements.
Cheers
Welcome aboard!

The one aspect I'm a bit unsure of is Mujeeb/Dorf.

Mujeeb is a c. 50 average player in BBL historically and priced below that. He plays Thunder (bowled out for 15), Heat (historically abominable against spin, albeit with significant personnel changes this year), then Hobart (ave 67 against them, albeit a small sample of 4) and a double (Sixers x 2 - not ideal, but he gets two shots at it, and averages 48 against them).

Dorf seemed to often lose overs last year, and as a somewhat more containing than wicket-taking bowler, it's more important that he bowls 3 to be eligible for that ER bonus. Last season his over counts were: 2, 4, 4, 2, 4, 4, 4, 4, 2, 2, 3, 2.5, 3.5. That's only 7 games of 3.5 or more, with 5 games of <3. He did quite well to take 16 wickets (albeit he still lost overs despite taking those wickets), but I wonder if he's nailed on for 8 overs this double or not. Scorchers also play the Sixers and Hurricanes, who are strong sides (equal favourite and third favourite to win the BBL) ... the Scorchers draw actually opens up a lot after that, but I suspect Dorf is someone that won't be held that long anyway. His domestic form is decent (see below), but I wonder if you can't get better value out of that trade.

Trying to crack the PS XI
Lyth
Bancroft
Faf
Ingilis
Turner
Hardie
A Agar
Jhye (1st match)/Kelly (2nd match
Tye
Dorff
Hatz

Looking at this line up, with PS playing with a day’s gap, am fairly certain that Jhye will be rotated with Kelly, making both a SGR players. Thereby making Hatz JS stronger. With his terrific form, guessing he will be given a long run. Now thinking Agar, Dorff and/or Hatz + Neser(if I go for 2 PS players). Thoughts?

Only if Rashid doesn't bowl again 😀

Quality over quantity though.

I had 4 DGR players contribute 64 combined last round so no guarantee it works
I agree with this.

It would be better to add up the expected scores of the players with a second game, than to count them ... it's just that counting them is quicker and objective.

Keep Zampa if you can. 50+ player with a negative BE.

Two other options would be (1) trading Lynn, who I don't see a particular reason to keep over Zampa, or (2) seeing how Inglis goes tonight, and potentially trading Clarke instead, swinging Gilkes up to WK1.

For me (1) would be preferred. There may be other good options.
