Glenn Maxwell is the highest owned player in supercoach BBL currently at 56.6% owned.

BUT what if I told you there is a few good reasons you should avoid him round one even at his juicy price.

Maxwell Coming off a world cup campaign, followed by a T20 series against India.

4th of December is the last of the T20s, only a few days later on the 7th he will jet in from India to the Gabba to face the Brisbane Heat where he struggles 5 games at the Gabba for supercoach scores of 13,0, 38, 6, 35 = 18.4avg

Then his second game is against the scorchers where he struggles as well.
10 games against Scorchers (66, 10, 4, 111, 22, 69, 1, 20, 8, 5) 31.6 avg

It's hard to see him getting many overs as well with so many bowlers at the Stars so you would be banking on a tired Maxwell to score lots of runs and fielding pts.

Followed by a bye in Round 2.

Congrat.s to our ODI team
A well played and very well planned game
Interesting comment by Australian/Indian commentator Bharat Sudaresen that he hadn't seen one Bollywood movie in which India plays, and beats, England or Sth Africa or Pakistan.
The opponent is always Australia.

Been a member of the fading (unsuccessfully) Maxwell on a DGR club in the past , possibly twice (slow learner)

Historical averages certainly present a case to do it plus the length of time being away.

With the Heat on a TGR and 3 other teams on a DGR might be the ideal opportunity.

Still wouldn't be surprised if he (& Stoinis) miss the opening game if not indeed the opening Round , if so hopefully we get a indication before team sheets drop and don't have a mad scramble that causes the HS site to crash.

Might need a contingency plan in place just in case , Harper possibly the best of a lot of bad bat options and one of Mir/Paris/Rauf/Steketee.

I guess as captain Maxwell will be keen to play and then a 5 day break before their next game.

Make Round 3 trade options interesting (limited) if they did end up missing 1 or both games , especially if they are going to split Brook's replacement as well , more so of we need to trade QDK in that round as well

Stars fixtures favour starting NCN but not sure I have the cash to do it.

If they play 7-4 the 5th will be a combo of Maxwell/Stoinis/Webster , still think he will bowl regularly 1-2 overs even if they play 6-5.

Think they have 1 local spot to fill.

Cartwright , Harper , Maxwell , OS replacement , Stoinis , Webster = 6 (if all available)

Coulter-Nile , Mir (tbc) , Rauf (tbc) + 1 of Boland(Test Squad most likely)/Couch/Paris (injury concern last game)/Steketee

Final spot could be anyone of Burns/Kelleway/Larkin/Rogers or a specialist bowler

Be nice to get some clarification soon

Pakistan team is departing on the 30th November , have a training preparation camp from the 22nd to 29th.

Should know this week the status of the 3 Pakistani BBL contracted players.
18 man Squad has just been announced , none of the three with BBL contracts has been included.

Usama Mir has been included in the training camp.

Article is on the PCB website
