Thank **** I no longer live over there, as it’s unbearable enough copping this loss living back home. Seems like just over a week ago when England were on the ropes looking like being kicked out of the group stage. Now they’re in pole position to win it all. With us, the complete polar opposite.
Said yesterday that the toss might be a good one to lose and looks like it was the case. The idea of batting first was the right one at the time, but with the beauty of hindsight we saw moisture in the pitch early on with the ball seaming all over the shop. It then dried up significantly and we had no such luck having those conditions when we attempted to defend our modest total.
If I had to pick one out of the Ashes or the World Cup for us to win, I’d pick the Ashes, so hopefully the English have a bit of a hangover when they pull on the whites.
Seriously reckon the likes of Maxwell and Stoinis have played their last games for Australia. There is absolutely no point in giving them games anymore as we may as well look forward and begin the next World Cup cycle immediately. And on that note, it’s time for Australia to **** off the fast bowling allrounder dream that they’ve been trying pull off ever since Freddie flintoff terrorised us. Stop playing one for the sake of it *** when they’re quite clearly not up to standard. Play a specialist bat or bowler, not a bloke who is a fkn shambles at both.
Turn our attention to the Ashes now. Absolutely can’t wait, we’re in for a ripper of a series. Here’s the squad I go with for the tour:
Warner
Burns
Khawaja
Smith
Head
Patterson
Paine
Pattinson
Cummins
Hazlewood
Lyon
Starc
Richardson (siddle If richo isn’t fit)
Holland
Patterson
Wade
