My 2 cents worth.

Not sure about number 6 bat. Acknowledge that Wade has knocked the selectors door down with runs but he was horrible with the bat in his last stint and not sure he has technique to cope in England. Staggered Marsh gets another go and Marnus doesn’t fill me with confidence. Hope I am wrong. Is Bancroft an option at 6?

Also don’t think you can pick all of Cummins, Starc and Pattinson. Too much the same for England. For variety I think we need to pick 2 of those 3 and 1 of Hazelwood, Neser and Siddle. You need a line and length guy in England to tie down one end.
Bancroft will open. I have a feeling Labuschagne is the one who bats 3 if Khawaja misses. It will really annoy me, but I think given the experiment that was trialled in one of the matches he played (vs India I think?) that he's been earmarked as a potential no.3. I'm desperately hoping its not and that M.Harris is given the nod over him.

Given Starc's and Pattinson's injury history, we'd be mad to pick both of them in the same team without an all-rounder option. If you do pick them both I think Neser has to play and bat 7.

Don't enjoy watching Hazlewood in English conditions, bowls that 'Australian length' that is about 1-2 feet too short on English pitches. Batsmen play him later and tend to have more time because of that length, meaning a lot more runs behind point. I'm hoping he proves me wrong, but Siddle is probably the safer option to start the series unless we decide to go bezerk with the Starc/Pattinson/Cummins combo.

I just had a thought: didn’t Bancroft throw Warner under the bus (potentially with quite some justification) as part of the ball tampering issue?

Are they getting on now?

Could be some awkward chats between overs if not :p

and to think the Pakistan dressing room used to be uncomfortable , ours could be just as bad

you would hope all involved have sat down for several pints by now and aired any grievances/issues

weren't the Bowlers thrown under the same bus as well ? (possibly/probably justified) Net sessions could be firey as well

Paine might need to read the riot act

trying to build a case for Mitch Marsh (and struggling)

2015 Ashes

Lords 12, 27 * 2/23 , 1/8
Birmingham 0,6 0/24 , 0/8
The Oval 3, dnb 3/30 , 2/56

8 wickets in London is all I have, maybe he is just in to play in the capital city, Labuschagne at Old Trafford and Neser/Wade to share the other 2 Tests :D

Maybe he’s really good at running out water and new sets of gloves to the batsmen out in the middle? That is all the use I can find for him for this tour. CA did the right thing at the start of the year by getting rid of him on the contract list, and then they turnaround and pick him for this tour? If he somehow makes it into the XI for a test I’ll rage quit.

They’ve probably named half the squad as vice captain behind closed doors. Head, Cummins, Hazlewood, Marsh, Warner have all had that role in the last 18 months.

The batted together the next day.
Everything I seen of all players involved and even players not directly involved that were rumoured to be super pissed off with Warner way back then seemed to have been sorted out. I think Warmer must have had some real genuine conversations of apology to many players to clear any tension some months back.

I am surprised how well it has all gone in terms of everyone seems to get along.

You won’t have much success building a case for Marsh based on history - it’s all about the hope that he’ll suddenly become a world class player for some reason.

Very true , maybe he is a late developer.

The fact he has 2 Test centuries must mean something somewhere.

I actually would love CA just to say Mitch for the next 2 years you are going to play Shield , county , shield , county and actually see if you can develop and learn as a batsmen , get some solid first class cricket into him.

Looking at the Squad though I am not sure if Labuschagne or Wade will do much better and unless Paine bats 6 and they bring Neser in to have 4 pace and Goat , we may see Marsh back in the XI.

Unless they go :-

Harris
Bancroft
Khawaja
Smith
Warner
Head

as a option
