Should be opening in the 1st Test, not a fan of slotting him in the middle order as some have suggested, setting a bloke up to fail getting him to play a role hes never done in a 17 year career.
He has been batting #4 for the last two years for Queensland. Therefore, should not be opening in the 1st Test under your conditions.

Wouldn't mind seeing this for the A Squad :-

Hunt
Street
McDermott
Khawaja
Maddinson
Carey (C)
Abbott
Neser (if available)
Richardson , J
Swepson
Steketee

Doubt they pick even one of Hunt or Street let alone both of them

Boland next quick

Hopefully they don't pick Henriques or Wade

Not sure if they include M Marsh or Wildermuth if they are playing 4 quicks + Swepson

Not sure if they still include Pucovski or not

Doubt they need Inglis / Peirson or Philippe

Can't really think of anyone else

I think me and you have a better chance of appearing in the BBL.

Surely he is next in line , if not starting at the Gabba.
I would love to see him picked over Starc.

Cummins, Hazlewood, Richardson & Lyon - bowling in consistently good areas & building pressure on the batsmen. So over Starc coming back on & bowling loose deliveries after batsmen struggling to score v the other 3.
Starc can bowl the odd amazing ball/ is a left armer so adds variety but I much prefer the consistency & relentless pressure Richo would add to the attack.

Starc would be the one to replace.

Surely with limited red ball preparation they can't play all 3 of Cummins , Hazlewood & Starc , just asking for trouble.

Obviously I am not a bowling analyst but how much work do they need once they get back home and into training initially for the warm up game then back-to-back Tests ?

Just asking for one of them to breakdown , surely with Abbott , Richardson & Steketee having some red ball cricket under their belts they play 1 (if not 2) at the Gabba.

The elephant in the room with Starc is how much he contributes to the effectiveness of Lyon. I think the team management likes that a bit too much.

That being said it does feel like picking all three of our guns is a disaster waiting to happen...

What's all the hoohaa with Warner hitting that double bouncer for 6???!!!
"iT's NoT tHe DoNe ThInG"
What next?
Blocking back half volleys, because the bowler didn't mean to bowl it there???!!!
The whingers need to grow up, and toughen up!!!
…or the batsman gets recalled when he plays a reverse, cross bat circus shot because it was a rush of blood. You know, like every time Maxwell bats.
