I think it was the right choice to bring Head straight in, that's the kind of batting we need if we're going to win anything over there, his aggressive batting is scoring runs and that's what we need, to set the Indians a difficult total to achieve. Poking and prodding around on these wickets defensively won't get it done. Neither will shots like what Usi played, way to spoon feed it to the fielder mate! lol

I totally agree. We have to be more assertive than we were last game, or we may as well not bother.

Some aggressive batting puts India on the back foot a bit more, and improves our chances of posting a winning score.

Absolute garbage.

How they are 6 down today in 12 overs is beyond belief.
It seems nearly batsman has decided to sweep or reverse sweep from ball 1 - premeditated… not playing the ball on merit. Surely playing straight early on & getting your eye in first would be a better idea before then playing those shots. I know they need to proactive but needs to be a better balance. I would rather see them use their feet & dance down the wicket.

India playing a 2nd quick when they open 2nd innings with Ashwin further humiliates us.

Tactically I think we have picked a better side for the conditions this Test...ala 3 spinners. However I would pick Boland over Cummins and that can't be done in the current scenario. Maybe I just don't like Pat. He's not improving that by his 2nd innings batting exploits.

We are desperately missing Green given Renshaw has done nothing with the bat.

Day 3 has been Groundhog Day. That's the disappointment. 200 ahead and we would probably be competitive here and we just chucked it in without a whimper.

Will Sutherland putting together a very nice Shield season. Sitting 16th for runs scored (averaging 30) and tied 2nd for wickets taken (31), despite missing a match earlier in the season.

Captained the VICS to wins against QLD and SA since the re-start of the season. Still only 23 years old.
