Very happy to admit my fears were unfounded. Great strategic playing from Australia in their first innings! Intriguing and enthrallingly strange day’s play.

And on their own garbage wicket too, looks like it's got dried blood smeared all over it, they'd be better off playing on fake turf on a concrete slab like in grade cricket.

Gonna take the confident position. 1 down. New ball is the easiest time to bat and there is every chance Head goes full T20 to kill it straight away. Hopefully he gives himself 10 minutes first!

I wonder if someone spoke to him after his efforts in the slips in the last test, they were talking about how he was standing up too tall and having his hands too high. It looked to me like he wasn't showing enough urgency to be set in the right position before the ball was bowled.
Great catch yesterday though, I bet he's glad that stuck.

His back issues are the cause for both of the two bolded points. He’s had to adopt a ‘walking in with the bowler’ type routine. I agree, it gets him in some horrible positions, especially for anything that’s low. We might have to cop the good with the bad, if that’s what has to happen for him to not continue to worsen the condition of his back.

Nonetheless, ripping catch yesterday.
