I watched England. Pretty confortable too.
Harry Brook wants to go to the World Cup.

Not sure he replaces though , Bairstow & Roy opening , Root , Stokes & Buttler 3-5 , Livingstone & 6 + the 2 spinners and 3 seamers.

Think Malan has made 4 centuries in his last 12 Innings and he is still only the 'spare" bat

More easy wins for ENG and AUS.

Bison 79no to go with his 92no first game.
Bairstow 86no and Brook 67 off 36 balls.

Huge wraps on this kid being our next opener… once Warner is done :-

Opener belts his second ton against England this year to put Australia in strong position in Worcester

Rising star Harry Dixon has starred on the opening day of the first youth Ashes Test, blazing a rapid century to establish early supremacy for Australia Under-19s at New Road.

The 18-year-old opener was 100no from 121 balls at the close of play. He went from 90 to 100 in the space of three balls from Jaydn Denly, with the left-hander eager to keep up the pace on a surface already taking turn.

"I tried to get it over and done as quick as possible," said Dixon. "There was a bit in the pitch early on but it had flattened out by stumps. It started to spin a bit like a day four wicket and there was a lot of rough around.

England will be having nightmares of Dixon having been on the receiving end of his hitting in February when he belted 148 in a one-dayer and 84no in a T20, both at Allan Border Field in Brisbane.

On Friday, the Victorian batted with great authority and struck two sixes and 18 fours in reaching three figures.

Openers Sam Konstas and Dixon had laid the foundations to put on 46 in 11 overs, with the latter completing a 68-ball half century when he clipped Noah Thain through mid-wicket for his 10th four.

He then struck the first six of the day when striking Farhan Ahmed over wide long on, increasing the tempo in the closing part of the day and bringing up his ton in a grand manner with a straight six off Denly.

As in for the 1st Test v West Indies ? 🤔 , massive call bypass Bancroft , Harris and Renshaw and pick him instead (noting Jewell made a century in the 2nd 4 Day game v NZ A)

Hopefully he can break into the Victorian Shield side and make some runs.

Certainly a few to watch including Chandrasinghe , Clayton , Kellaway & Wyllie.

Be good to have some of these young bats starting to put up some consistent Shield runs over the next few seasons , Test side will certainly change over the next 2 years.

Mind you Doran & Sangha were both described as once in a generation bats , still waiting for that to happen.

No, not that soon

I am talking in a few years time if he performs at shield level ( assuming he gets games for Victoria next season hopefully)

Why wait ? 😉

Pick him now.

Think I read the Renegades have signed him (haven't seen official confirmation)

Be very interesting how they transition over the next few years , hopefully Warner's replacement is established before Khawaja retires.

Need some more Australia A series though to get some more experience into these guys.

Pakistan & West Indies this summer , then New Zealand (A) for 2 Tests.

2024/25 India & home then tour Sri Lanka
