Thought India shot themselves in the foot with the pitch they picked. With the dew coming in, basically meant the winner of the toss was going to win the game. Pandya out messed with the balance of the side as well, but wasn't really an issue until the final.

I wonder if we'll see a bit of generational change in the Aussie ODI side now. Assuming ODI cricket isn't actually dead, you think Warner, Smith, Maxwell, Starc and Hazelwood (at least) aren't going to be round for the next world cup and it seems there's less space on the calendar for it.

ICC Board is actually meeting tomorrow and the future of ODI's is on the agenda.

Be interesting to see how and when the transition begins , Champions Trophy is Jan/Feb 2025 until then we only have the following ODI's scheduled (so far) :-

Feb v WI 3
Aug/Sep v Ireland (A) 3
Sep v England (A) 5
Nov v Pakistan 3

Do they think that squad can stay intact until Champions Trophy ? , Warner doesn't sound like he is retiring from ODI's just yet.

Ellis , Hardie & T Sangha were the 3 cut from the 18 man Squad announced , Labuschagne came in for Agar

I certainly don't pay as much attention to the Marsh Cup domestically so no idea who are next in line.

As a possible point of reference this was the ODI A Squad that played against New Zealand A

Wes Agar, Ollie Davies, Ben Dwarshuis, Liam Hatcher, Matthew Kuhnemann, Marnus Labuschagne, Ben McDermott, Todd Murphy, Josh Philippe, Matthew Renshaw, Gurinder Sandhu, Matt Short, Mark Steketee, Will Sutherland, Ashton Turner

Sit back and enjoy the triumph , certainly was written off by many after losing earlier to India and South Africa.

This happened to England last year and NZ the year before that. The circus is ridiculous.

Possibly the only thing more ridiculous is the WTC final effectively being a warm up for the Ashes series to follow. This game does itself no favours sometimes.
