Glass half full.

Maybe if we fold this innings like a deck of cards then it will infuriate the POMs that much more that they could not regain the Ashes against this rabble of a batting line up.

S Smith looks like averaging more in this Ashes series, than Warner made as an aggregate!
That is already guaranteed to happen. Smith would have averaged 107.2 this series even if we went out for a duck this innings.

Warner aggregate 95.

In fact Smith and Warner have combined for 869 runs this series in 17 completed inning at an average of 51.18. Good return for the pair:unsure:.

probably a complete wanker on the field , but at least Wade showed some guts and fight

2 centuries should give him first option against the Pakis

the rest of them looked like they were still celebrating Manchester

That does look messy. Maybe it's because of opponent availability?

We are hosting the T20 World Cup nxt year, so we will be trying to win those T20s in Oct and Nov too.

At least it's the batsmen that are the big issue, and Harris, Bancroft, Burns, Paine etc won't be needed for the T20s. Could be an issue for Warner, Head, Wade and M Marsh though?

Yikes - they're pretty bad numbers from Harris and Bancroft.

Switch Labuschagne for Patterson and take the rest of that top group, and there's a decent lineup when several of them aren't horribly out of form.

They both look technically deficient at Test level.

Their is a spot available , just hope someone puts their hand up and demands to be selected.

2nd Match, Romania Cup at Ilfov County, Aug 29 2019

Turkey v Luxembourg T20I # 868

On Debut for Turkey: C Akyuz 57y 89d , S Kansoy 57y 54d , H Alta 54y96d & R Ulutuna 45y 96d

Cengiz Akyüz was happy to become the oldest T20I player on debut, but alas the very next game on the very same day Osman Goker made his debut against Romania at the age of 59y 181d

Anyone with Turkish heritage their could be a chance to play T20I's.

Bairstow axed as England name Test, T20 squads for NZ
Keeper overlooked for two-Test series against Kiwis, as has Jason Roy, with four uncapped players named for tour

England have dropped Jonny Bairstow from their Test squad for the tour of New Zealand, with paceman James Anderson unavailable for the two-match series due to a calf injury.

Four uncapped players will be on the plane - Warwickshire opener Dominic Sibley, Kent batsman Zak Crawley and Lancashire pair Saqib Mahmood and Matt Parkinson.

Batsman Jason Roy, who starred in England's World Cup triumph, is another name missing from the 15-strong Test squad after a difficult Ashes series, which ended 2-2 last week.

Surrey batsman Ollie Pope, who played two Tests against India in 2018, is back in the squad while Jos Buttler will be the wicketkeeper in New Zealand due to Bairstow's absence.

Bairstow, 29, scored just 214 runs in the five Ashes Tests during the English summer at an average of 23.77.

Anderson, England's top Test wicket-taker, has been out of action since the first Test against Australia and is targeting the South Africa tour, starting in December.

The first Test, at Mount Maunganui, starts on November 21. The series is not included in the new World Test Championship.

National selector Ed Smith confirmed Bairstow, who will travel with the 15-man T20 squad, had been dropped rather than rested.

"This feels like an opportunity for Jonny to reset," he said on Sky Sports.

"He's not rested. He drops out of the Test team but it's an opportunity for Jonny after a very busy summer, very hectic schedule, to reset, to work on one or two things and to come back stronger," he added.

"My prediction is he comes back very strongly."

World Cup-winning captain Eoin Morgan will captain the Twenty20 team, with the five-match series starting on November 1.

Somerset's Tom Banton and Mahmood have earned their first England call-ups after impressive white-ball summers, along with Worcestershire seamer Pat Brown and Lancashire spinner Matthew Parkinson.

Test squad: Joe Root (c), Jofra Archer, Stuart Broad, Rory Burns, Jos Buttler, Zak Crawley, Sam Curran, Joe Denly, Jack Leach, Saqib Mahmood, Matthew Parkinson, Ollie Pope, Dominic Sibley, Ben Stokes, Chris Woakes

Twenty20 squad: Eoin Morgan (c), Jonny Bairstow, Tom Banton, Sam Billings, Pat Brown, Sam Curran, Tom Curran, Joe Denly, Lewis Gregory, Chris Jordan, Saqib Mahmood, Dawid Malan, Matt Parkinson, Adil Rashid, James Vince

disappointing this didn't get more publicity

Until very recently the record for the highest score on T20 international debut dated from the very first such match: Ricky Ponting made 98 not out for Australia against New Zealand in the first one, in Auckland in February 2005.

But in the space of three days this August, two men scored hundreds in their first T20 internationals: first, Ravinderpal Singh scored 101 for Canada against the Cayman Islands in Bermuda on August 18, then two days later Jean-Pierre Kotze hit an unbeaten 101 - from 43 balls, with nine sixes - for Namibia against Botswana in Windhoek.
