Now becomes irrelevant as an SC option. Batting behind short, Wade and probably McDermott won’t help his chances at all.
Will wait until the revised schedule is released and clarity on how the eco bubbles are going to work for the ODI Squad and Test Squad whether they will be seperate bubbles or a big combined one.

But on face value doesn't look a viable pick.

Love all this talk about the T20 side needing a finisher , Agar , Carey , Marsh , Maxwell , Stoinis all want to do it.

If Finch , Warner , Smith batted the 20 overs then why can't they do it ?

Or how about picking some specialist middle order batsmen eg Wells instead of continually having 6-7 openers in the Squad.

This is how BBL teams are looking so far. (Don't mind the starting X11 just making numbers up)

I think you are holding out on us , Adam Griffith said you have already finalised 17 spots 😀

Given he said they (you) haven't talked too Archer , I am hoping Qais is one and the other OS player could be Malan.

Any idea when the decision is going to made if it is to be increased to 3 OS players or will it remain at 2 ?

Didn't realise you came 8th last season , congrats.

Surely not Agar - I couldn't believe how out of sorts he looked at times last year, and that was for the Scorchers.

Could be a lock if he gets a captain who gives him proper opportunity?
Dan's our man looked past it the majority of last season , surely they can do better (think CA needs to start stepping in and ensuring some of the younger players start getting games)

Would slot in at 6 or 7 though.

He might bring Gleeson and Patel back.

This was shared on Wisden’s page.

Ricky Ponting's batting average after...

10 Tests: 41.87
20 Tests: 39.43
30 Tests: 38.62
40 Tests: 45.83
50 Tests: 44.65
60 Tests: 47.86
70 Tests: 50.96
80 Tests: 53.58
90 Tests: 55.60
100 Tests: 57.71
110 Tests: 59.29
120 Tests: 58.91
130 Tests: 56.72
140 Tests: 55.26
150 Tests: 54.27
160 Tests: 52.70
168 Tests: 51.85

What stands out to me how his overall average improved between 30 Tests and 110 Tests. I asked how much he had to have averaged to improve his average from 38.62 after 30 Tests to 59.29 after 110 Tests (if I recall correctly, his average did enter the 60’s for a brief while). On the the comments mentioned he averaged 67.01 in this 80 Test span.
Absolutely remarkable to be that consistently good for that long. Certainly went for about 2 seasons too long but to have a final average of 51.85 after that many games just reinforces what great he was.

I think it was the Handscomb article a day or so ago that said 17 had been signed (with announcements to follow).

Might be a very interesting season ahead.

Canes signing Will Parker, Nick Winter, Tim David making it 12.

2 year contract as well , but why even losing Renshaw and possibly BC, surely Heazlett & co are better options moving forward, bit of experience I guess depending on Burns & Labuschagne's availability.

Brisbane Heat BBL|10 squad (so far): Tom Banton (Eng), Max Bryant, Joe Burns, Tom Cooper, Ben Cutting, Matthew Kuhnemann, Ben Laughlin, Chris Lynn, Jimmy Peirson, Mitchell Swepson
