Here’s some more
info. I might roll with him as well. If he can play another 2 games, he’ll make some quick cash in the short term but if Sauce has ongoing problems, we might see ROB in and out of the team to make more cash throughout the year.
The ‘considering a number of options’ and ‘acute and longstanding/chronic’ comments are interesting.
Crows ruckman
Sam Jacobs has been ruled out of Adelaide’s Round Five clash with Gold Coast as the Club continues to take a conservative approach to his knee rehabilitation.
The 31-year-old trained on Tuesday morning but unfortunately was unable to complete the required training progressions.
Jacobs has not played since Adelaide’s Round Two win over Sydney, where he sustained a collision injury to his right knee.
Crows Science and Medical Services Coordinator Steve Saunders said
a return-to-play timeframe for Jacobs was unclear, with the Club considering a number of options to provide the best care for Sam.
“Sam’s knee had shown encouraging signs of improvement over the last two weeks,” Saunders said.
“Unfortunately, Sam is still presenting with meniscal symptoms that have prevented multi-directional and dynamic training progressions despite other improvements in function.
“
It is a complex meniscal problem with acute and longstanding or chronic pathologies involved.
“Sam will be re-evaluated by club specialists over the next 48 hours and we will provide updates as to his management plan as the Club’s medical team works through all options available.”
