One for the Pies supporters :)

…........Things only get better for the Pies with three stars expected to be back come week one of September.
Jaidyn Stephenson will return from suspension, while Darcy Moore (hamstring) and Jordan de Goey (hamstring) expected to bolster the line-up.
Defender Jeremy Howe doesn’t think de Goey will face Essendon this Friday night, but Moore is a chance to return.........Midfielder Daniel Wells is expected to return via the VFL on the weekend.........

AFL Casualty Ward: The players your club’s sweating on for finals
https://www.foxsports.com.au/afl/af...s/news-story/d4def8bbcaef756c0c847d054c2b024b

1. BRISBANE Injury list
Allen Christensen (hamstring) — TBC
Tom Joyce (shin) — 3 weeks
James Madden (hamstring) — test
The Lions are roaring and a very healthy list is just one of the reasons the club has risen to the top of the ladder. Allen Christensen finished Saturday’s epic one-point win over Geelong on the bench, with ice on his hamstring. He remains as the club’s only injury concern, at least in terms of first-string players. It’s a very enviable position to be in.

2. GEELONG Injury list
Jordan Clark (elbow) — 2 weeks
Jordan Cunico (ankle) — 1 week
Lachie Fogarty (hamstring) — 2 weeks
Gary Rohan (knee) — 1 week
Just like Brisbane, the Cats boast one of the shortest injury lists in the AFL. Youngster Jordan Clark avoided a serious elbow injury at training and should be a welcomed return in the first week of the finals. Meanwhile, impact player Gary Rohan could return this weekend to face Carlton. Having missed the past the past fortnight, and with the bye weekend preceding the finals, Rohan could do with a warm up match to rediscover his touch.

3. WEST COAST Injury list
Jarrod Brander (hamstring) — season
Luke Foley (calf) — test
Mark Hutchings (hamstring) — TBC
Fraser McInnes (quad) — test
Nic Naitanui (ankle) — TBC
Brodie Riach (stress fracture) — 1 week
Josh Smith (hamstring) — 2 weeks
Daniel Venables (concussion) — season
West Coast’s biggest concern is around ruckman Nic Naitanui, who suffered an ankle injury back in Round 18 against Collingwood. Adam Simpson has described Naitanui as the Eagles’ version of Patrick Dangerfield — and for good reason. Naitanui could be the club’s trump card come September, and although there were doubts he’d return in 2019 Naitanui appears primed to return for the finals. Meanwhile, Mark Hutchings (hamstring) finished Sunday’s one-goal loss to Richmond on the bench. A regular in the club’s 22 — and Simpson’s go-to man for tagging roles — Hutchings would be a serious loss.

4. RICHMOND Injury list
Trent Cotchin (hamstring) — test
Dylan Grimes (ankle) — TBC
Jack Higgins (brain bleed) — season
Toby Nankervis (soreness) — test
Alex Rance (knee) — season
Sydney Stack (ankle) — TBC
The Tigers’ injury list has diminished significantly, with the majority of their stars back into the club’s best 22. Skipper Trent Cotchin only just missed selection this week and should be a lock to return for the club’s blockbuster match against Brisbane at the MCG on Sunday, as should Toby Nankervis. But Sydney Stack (ankle) could be done for the year, with the talented youngster to undergo surgery after succumbing to injury in the VFL. Fears were allayed when Dylan Grimes (ankle) returned to the field on Sunday, but the defender could be touch and go to feature against the Lions. Alex Rance (ACL) ruled out an unlikely return earlier this month.

5. COLLINGWOOD Injury list
James Aish (shoulder) — 1 week
Dayne Beams (shoulder/hip) — season
Mason Cox (eye) — season
Jordan De Goey (hamstring) — 1 week
Lynden Dunn (knee) — season
Will Kelly (hamstring) — TBC
Tom Langdon (knee) — season
Darcy Moore (hamstring) — 1 week
Isaac Quaynor (foot) — TBC
Ben Reid (hamstring) — TBC
Brayden Sier (calf) — TBC
Jaidyn Stephenson (suspension) — 1 week
Daniel Wells (knee) — test
Nathan Buckley hasn’t had his best list to choose from all season. But while the likes of Dayne Beams, Mason Cox and Tom Langdon won’t return, some big inclusions could make a huge difference come September. Jordan De Goey (hamstring) and Darcy Moore (hamstring) will add another dimension at either end of the ground, with Collingwood’s forward line also to be boosted by Jaidyn Stephenson, who has almost served the entirety of his suspension.

6. GWS Injury list
Jeremy Cameron (hamstring) — test
Stephen Coniglio (knee) — 3 weeks
Brett Deledio (calf) — 2-3 weeks
Jeremy Finlayson (hamstring) — 1 week
Matt Flynn (knee) — season
Jacob Hopper (hamstring) — 1-2 weeks
Zac Langdon (ankle) — 3 weeks
Daniel Lloyd (calf) — 1 week
Shane Mumford (illness) — test
Jonathon Patton (knee) — TBC
Sam Taylor (hamstring) — 1 week
Callan Ward (knee) — season
The Giants have really hit the skids and injuries to a plethora of stars hasn’t helped Leon Cameron’s cause. Jeremy Cameron should come back into the side this weekend to face the Suns and perhaps stake his claim on the Coleman Medal, as should Shane Mumford who was a late withdrawal with illness before Sunday’s 61-point loss to the Western Bulldogs. The pre-finals bye will serve GWS well, with Jacob Hopper poised to add some grunt to the side’s midfield. Veteran Brett Deledio (calf) and star onballer Stephen Coniglio (knee) are more remote chances.

7. ESSENDON Injury list
Tom Bellchambers (calf) — 2 weeks
Joe Daniher (groin) — season
Sam Draper (knee) — season
Matt Guelfi (knee) — season
Cale Hooker (groin soreness) — test
Kobe Mutch (knee) — TBC
Devon Smith (knee) — season
James Stewart (groin) — season
David Zaharakis (foot) — TBC
The Bombers locked in a finals berth after defeating Fremantle on Saturday night, but the win came at a cost with midfielder David Zaharakis finishing the game on crutches and in a moon boot. First choice ruckman Tom Bellchambers (calf) should be ready to go for the first final, while Cale Hooker — a late withdrawal before Saturday — should also return. While not listed, captain Dyson Heppell has been carrying a footy injury.

8. WESTERN BULLDOGS Injury list
Caleb Daniel (hamstring) — 5-7 weeks
Tim English (illness) — test
Ryan Gardner (knee) — 1-3 weeks
Fergus Greene (shoulder) — season
Tom Liberatore (knee) — 1 week
Dale Morris (knee) — season
Mitch Wallis (ankle) — indefinite
The Bulldogs’ destiny is in their own hands. Put simply, defeat Adelaide and they’re back to playing finals — for the first time since their 2016 premiership, no less. Tim English was a late withdrawal against GWS, but should feature in Ballarat on Sunday. Spiritual leader Tom Liberatore is also a sneaky chance to play, but reliable small defender Caleb Daniel would need the Bulldogs to go deep into September to play again in 2019.

9. HAWTHORN Injury list
Grant Birchall (hamstring) — 1 week
Will Golds (ankle) — test
Jarman Impey (knee) — season
Harry Jones (knee) — season
Mitch Lewis (shoulder) — test
Darren Minchington (hamstring) — 1-3 weeks
Tom Mitchell (leg) — season
Tim Mohr (knee) — season
Ryan Schoenmakers (calf) — 1 week
The Hawks would need to knock off West Coast at Optus Stadium to elevate themselves into the top eight. A difficult, if not improbable, task. Alastair Clarkson hasn’t guaranteed Jarryd Roughead a spot on the plane, despite kicking six goals. Emerging forward Mitch Lewis could keep the retiree out if he passes a fitness test.

10. ADELAIDE Injury list
Tom Doedee (knee) — season
Cam Ellis-Yolmen (shin) — 1 week
Paul Hunter (foot) — 2 weeks
Riley Knight (hip soreness) — test
Ned McHenry (back) — 1 week
Andrew McPherson (hamstring) — 2 weeks
Alex Keath (ankle) — test
Adelaide has had one the healthiest lists all season, with defender Alex Keath set to return for the club’s must-win clash against the Western Bulldogs in Ballarat.

11. PORT ADELAIDE Injury list
Tobin Cox (kidney) — test
Brad Ebert (knee) — 1-3 weeks
Jake Patmore (knee) — season
Jack Watts (leg) — indefinite
Ryan Burton and Zak Butters were both injected back into the Power’s side that was humiliated by North Melbourne on Saturday night, leaving just Brad Ebert as a possible September inclusion. If they get there, that is.

North Melbourne, Fremantle, St Kilda, Sydney, Carlton, Melbourne and Gold Coast are all out of finals contention.

Sounds like Gawn is fine.

“Max just tightened up a bit in his hamstring,” Misson said.

“He didn’t really have an incident, but we were precautious in the game – we didn’t want to risk him.

“The scans came back good and he’s already had a run and feels good. He’ll do a bit of training tomorrow and we expect him to play.”

Love it, you can hit someone and fracture their throat, but by god you better not concuss them :ROFLMAO:
I think one of the Carlton players is out with the same issue, happened a couple of weeks ago. No report or fine from memory.

Richmond has provided updates on star quartet Trent Cotchin, Toby Nankervis, Dylan Grimes and Sydney Stack.
Grimes suffered an ankle injury in the win over West Coast. He played out the game and remains likely to play, according to club physical performance manager Peter Burge.

“Grimesy fell and stood on another players’ boot and rolled his ankle. It was a bit bruised after the game and the next day. Plenty of ice and compression in the first 48 hours and today,” he told the Richmond website.
“At this stage he’s probable for this week and we’d anticipate him doing a little bit of training during the week and hopefully he’s a good chance to play on Sunday.”
Toby Nankervis missed the West Coast game with soreness in his adductor and is in doubt to face Brisbane.
“If you go back to the Carlton game, Toby played his first game back in the AFL after three weeks in the VFL where we gradually progressed his game time.
“He noticed late in the game he started to get a bit sore in that adductor that he previously had injured.
“He came in the next day and didn’t feel too bad, but was a little bit bruised so we got some scans and he has irritated the scar tissue of the original injury.
“We thought it would settle fairly quickly, but it hasn’t, it’s been a bit slower … at this stage he’s unlikely for this week so we’re pushing ahead to improve the strength in that area and waiting for that swelling to settle down."

Tigers skipper Trent Cotchin however is expected to make his return after overcoming a hamstring injury.
“Trent did a full week of training last week and we thought he would play in the West Coast game.”
“He trains again this week and trains fully, then we expect him to play on Sunday.”
Richmond is also yet to rule on Sydney Stack for the season, after his syndesmosis injury suffered in the VFL.
“(Sydney) got carried off on the weekend so it was fairly serious. He needed surgery which he had last night. Fairly similar to most syndesmosis surgeries. Right now he’s in a little cast which he’ll have on for the next seven to 10 days,” Burge said.
“Once that’s off we’ll work out how fast we can push things. Kane Lambert had a similar procedure last year and played after four weeks. We’ve had some players who have had the same procedure who have taken a lot longer.
“It’s very hard to put a timeframe on him, but we’re relatively optimistic. We’ll make an informed decision in about a week or so.”

Chris Masten - LOL, cue WCE supporters melt
Yeah he's long been a target for WCE supporters but I'm hoping that's just the people who don't understand his role in the team properly... he's there for two way running and its actually quite amazing how good his disposal is.. current ranked elite for kicking this year.

The thing I find interesting is he's averaging only 1.7 tackls a game and he's supposes to come in to replace Hutch? My bet is Nelson takes Hutchins tagging role and Masten takes the half back role

Agree, Never got the hate for Masten. He's a very solid player with great delivery into the forward 50 by foot. Makes some silly mistakes at time but so do a ton of other players. I thnik it's a vocal minority on another message boards that drives the hate for Masten. I think it probably stems from those people wanting more from a player picked 3rd overall in his draft. They wanted a superstar.
