Every year there are a few picks in the preseason that divide coaches - usually they're the JLT bolters in that mid pricer / value premium range. I've made a poll of the 10 players who (I think) are the most debated players of this SC season (perhaps maybe just on SCS in the case of J.Steele and Billings) and would like to see where we have landed on these picks.

The JLT stats and ownership as of 17 March are also in the table below (with players in the poll highlighted and a few others also included).

The poll has a max of 10, so comment if you own someone not in the poll (or perhaps don't own D.Moore). This is all based on my assessment, so I may have missed a few more highly discussed names in the table (perhaps as they have fallen outside of my own consideration). Hopefully, the poll catches all the main culprits (Sheed, Brouch, Libba, Rocky, Greene, BSmith, etc) however, let me know if you think I should replace someone.

Just Smith from the poll options, plus M Crouch, Goldy and Moore from the table. Libba a chance if I end up with excess cash, but that seems unlikely.

Yup I have Mouch, Moore and BSmith too currently and also have Rocky. Pondering BCouch a bit more recently....

can't pass up sheeds finals scores for free and even though its practise games gaff made no difference to him
Sheed isn’t in my current considerations but I do understand the appeal. Probably should consider him a bit more closely as I am considering BCrouch at a similar price point

can't pass up on a fwd doing the most play on kick ins either
I can, too much of a risk of injuries, although I like watching him play.

Do Moore and Ridley need to Ave 75-80 ish to make that magic $ 150,000.00 profit ?
Moore needs to go at 85 ave to be $415k at RD 12, Ridley at 80 to be $389k

Wouldn’t say you can’t pass up on him. Signs are good but he is still the same Darcy Moore with dodgy hamstrings and no scoring history behind him.

Interesting discussion. I had seen most teams just locking him in so thought he was a rather uncontroversial selection. Good opposing opinions, glad I put him in the poll now. Although, he might be underrepresented in the poll given that others had a head start with the voting - if those who already have voted can change their vote to select him (if they hadn't) that would be great!

You still get the extra $ invested back in a downgrade. If they only make 100k it’s still a 200k profit (eg downgrade to 120k rookie).
Depends entirely what you use that extra $ on in the first place , a speculative $ 400k becomes a $ 525 k starter.

Smith and Darcy Moore for me. MCrouch has recently made way for Sloane due to his record at AO.

Sloane has never averaged under 115 in AO wins and he plays 5 of the first 8 games at the Adelaide Oval against Hawthorn, Geelong, Gold Coast, Fremantle and Port Adelaide, all of which are winnable games. I was looking at both MCrouch and Sloane but that would mean I would have 5 premiums plus Williams and Smith with Rd14 byes which could turn out to be problematic.
