I doubt any ruck will score as well as peak Gawn does. I brought in Naitanui last round, mainly as the best bye-free option. Didn't expect the Eagles to get such a cramped fixture, he will get rested at some point. McInerney with fwd DPP almost looks a better option to me.

I guess it depends if you plan on bringing Gawn back in. If so, running Draper at R2 and upgrading elsewhere could work. Could easily lose 40-50 pts per rd based on current scoring with this strategy, so the upgrade would need to make that up to break even. That could be tough.

Just said on the news it's usually 3-4 weeks minimum for a PCL, so I think you need to trade him. I still think Naitanui is the best option, but there's definitely plenty of choices.

Gawn injury around 1 min in:
Yeh flirted with Ladhams and Lycett but Lycett was only meant to miss the one but ended up missing 4. I'm now running scared with Gawn.

Lloyd vs Ridley

Looking at their 5game avg, LLoyd is approx 20pts/game better which may be enough to get you over the line in a final.
Ridley is ~$120k cheaper, money that could be spent on getting Whitfield instead of Greenwood for the same 20pts /game and still have change.

I think you have summed it up well. Lloyd is clearly scoring better, but you are paying for it. It's going to be team dependent which is better for you. I'm not seeing a lot of good options in the forward line, so to get the extra cash there for a top line forward it sounds like it is probably worth taking Ridley.

too many thoughts , too many options

who scores more from this point on ?

Nic Nat (BE 36) v Witts (BE 90) v Greenwood (BE 116)

the latter 2 too have a Bye , Nic Nat could be rested

just looking at options IF Draper does go big against the Saints , I may not have to trade Ceglar.

Option then of playing Big O as R2 from next round - > with Cameron & Ladhams as link or keeping him as a forward if I choose Nic Nat or Witts.

Cheers

Go for Witts, as I have the other two in my side. ;)

Seriously, I would expect there is a good chance Naitanui will get given a game off at some stage to rest up, so all 3 will probably miss a game. I think he'll probably outscore the other two from here out anyway, so Naitanui would be my first option, then Witts, then Greenwood. Big O as a forward looks a good option and use the trade elsewhere.

I brought Nic Nat in this week. have a look at his run home, some weak tap rucks coming up.

Agree, risk of game off or just lower TOG is possible. I am focused on finals, Big O guaranteed to miss week 1 of finals. If Nic misses a game, hopefully it may be non league week.

I'm fairly sure with Herbie's ranking that like me, finals are not going to be a huge priority this year.

Any preference on Simpkin or Ryder or Lladhams as a cheap (ish) pickup for F6?
Or someone else sub 500k who has had a bye already?

Never give up Hawk. Bottom 8 finals for me too, first time not in the top 8 for my main league. That league does have a prize for winning GF of bottom 8. was a rule I helped bring in to discourage bottom 8 teams trading wildly at end of the year against the better teams.

hahaha

Only just read this now and ended going Witts (so hopefully it doesn't come back to bite me)

Needed to scrape every $ 1 to try and do Laird - > Lloyd in Round 14.

Hopefully he is reliable enough to be a 90-95 ppg minimum.

Ended up going with Witts so I can slingshot Laird - > Lloyd.

Did my trade before I saw Yeo was out so probably should have taken Draper's score over Wicks and then reassessed everything.

Oh well
