Sorry I must be watching a different game the last few years.

Most clubs defence setup as a zone and guard space , very rare they actually play man on man , maybe 1 or 2.

Yes they will be 6-6-6 for a bounce but that is all
Toto, I don't think we're in Kansas anymore.
I think the combination of 666 and quick playing from kick ins will see more run n gun type play. A bit like basketball. These guys are already on the Red line. If they have to push to get back to a 666 regularly and lose that recovery time when a Backman takes 10 seconds to kick it in. Running patterns will change.

fair enough

defenders have 10 metres extra to kick in , so they kick it in now to where most of the players are .....so the congestion has moved 10 metres as well

a basketball court to a football field are you serious ?

they are running 20 KMs + now , don't think they can go much further , or expect a lot more injuries especially when fatigue sets in

we will still see a chip kiss pass style so players can recover

no idea who toto plays for

Cyril might be a good guide as he was one the best low possession players. He averaged 75 in his first year and had 5 tons in his first 9 games but that was in a premiership side.

Andrews's one on one loss would be pretty good?
Yes, quite good at 22.4% one on one loss rate.

Spoil efficiency of 71.1% (average for Key Defs was 68%).

Had the second most spoils in the league to Rance. Averaged 10.6 spoils (average for Key Defs was 5.5)

the new rules should help Hurley shouldn't they?
In theory they should. Doesn't quite have the best one on one loss rate at 27.8%.
Spoil efficiency of 68%.
Has the fourth lowest contested possession rate of Key Defs who played four games (27.8% vs Key Def average of 38.2%).

He had a great year in 2017 from all the disposals he was getting, but Dons seemed to change his role in the latter two thirds of the year.

Does 1 on 1 loss rate include both marks and spoils? If so, do spoils count for SC points?
Good question. The definition of one on one contests in the prospectus is as follows:

"Winning and losing percentages refer to how often a player wins the ball or concedes a possession to his opponent. A neutral result is recorded when the ball is spoiled or results in a stoppage."

I guess what would be really useful is one on one win rates, as that would reflect intercept possessions. Prospectus has one on one win rates for forwards and one on one loss rates for defenders.

These are a combination of effectiveness, intercepting, metres gained, contested possessions, clearances, pressure, score involvements, whether he was under pressure when he disposed of the ball, I'm pretty sure kick rating and not just kick efficiency etc and is quite weighted towards favouring important moments in the game, so it's fairly different from SC scoring but much more similar to SC scoring that AFL fantasy. Titch has never been a top 10 rated player in the league for player ratings, whilst Zorko has been top 10 the past two years, just to show the difference.

Can someone please post up De Goeys prospectus notes?

Cheers in advance :)
JORDAN DE GOEY
23yo 188cm 92kg 5th year

De Goey proved to be a highly efficient mid-forward, rating elite for goals, score assists and overall kick rating. He was the 17th most used target inside 50 and the team retained possession 60% of the time - the fifth-highest percentage of the top-50 targets. He also had the ninth-best win rate of the top-50 one-on-one targets. He ranked third of all general forwards for score involvements per game and 25% of his kicks into the forward 50 resulted in a teammate's mark - ranked 13th of the top-100 players for kicks inside 50.

SC ave: 58, 75, 79, 85.
Ticks for Scoreboard, Inside 50 Target and Delivery.

Freako says: "As a forward he is an OK pick, but if he becomes a mid-forward he could become a fantasy gun."

@Green Acres Can you post James Worpel and any idea of his numbers as a junior?
JAMES WORPEL
20yo 185cm 85kg 2nd year

Worpel averaged just 77 Champion Data ranking points per game in the VFL, average for a midfielder. But he looked more than comfortable at AFL level, averaging the third-most score assists of any mid-forward, behind All Australians Shane Edwards and Patrick Dangerfield. His kicking was an issue as a junior, but his kick rating was elite and was the second-highest of any mid-forward that played more than two games. The Hawks also took a mark from 36% of his kicks inside 50 - ranked sixth of the top-275 players for these types of kicks.

SC ave: 68.
Ticks for Assists and Kicking, Question Mark for Ball Winning.

Freako says: "Next in line for the Hawks midfield. One to watch."

Anyone able to post the notes on J Short?
JAYDEN SHORT
23yo 178cm 76kg 5th year

Short was the second-most improved player for AFL Player Rating points per game of anyone to play at least 11 games in each of the past two seasons. He ranked No.1 for metres gained per game of all general defenders. He was integral to Richmond's ball movement, averaging 1.6 defensive 50 score involvements - ranked equal first of any general defender with a minimum of 10 games - and rating elite for overall score involvements per game as well as goals. Short improved as an interceptor, but only rated average for intercept possessions per game.

SC ave: -, 63, 58, 83.
Ticks for Ball Winning and Metres Gained, upward arrow for Intercepting.

Freako says: "Should thrive as a result of the new kick-in rule. Strongly consider him."

Michael Hurley anyone?
MICHAEL HURLEY
28yo 192cm 94kg 11th year

Last season, Hurley ranked No.1 for Champion Data ranking points per game for a key defender, but 34th for AFL Player Rating points per game. He won more disposals than any other key defender, but recorded the fourth-lowest contested possession rate of anyone in his position to play at least five games. Rating elite for intercept possessions, he generated 6.1 AFL Player Rating points per game from these - ranked 12th of key defenders, but generated 0.2 rating points per game from his ball use - ranked 67th of 80 key defenders.

SC ave: 82, 69, 84, 73, 69, 86, 94, -, 103, 90.
Tick for Ball Winning, downward arrow for Inside Game and cross for Ball Use.

Freako says: "A far better option in Supercoach as his intercepting boosts his scores."

Toby McLean? I'm still not sure if his drop off was form, more forward time or because of Dunkley last year
