The FIFA World Cup is less than 2 months away and I am inviting SCS members to join in the fun of my privately run tipping competition which I have run successfully over the 2 previous world cups. Please note that I have sought and received permission to promote this comp on the site however it is not an official SCS scores competition.
The general concept is to pick a final score for each game (ie number of goals for each team) and points are awarded based on picking the right result (win, lose or draw) with bonus points awarded based on the accuracy of goal selections. Note that tips and results are submitted by email and there is a small fee (probably $10). However it is not intended to provide the winner with a huge windfall cash gain but rather as a bit of fun for those who aren't avid soccer followers (like me) but do take an interest at World Cup time. For those used to tipping in AFL football games the interesting difference when tipping soccer games is the possible of 3 relatively equally likely outcomes rather than 2.
To register your interest please PM me an email address and I will send out full details and updates.
For those avid soccer followers (you are most welcome to join) but please don't hold it against me that I have used the term soccer. I thought it was clearer in a predominantly AFL forum.
