Him minidee, considering you will be stuck with a donut I think you should trade Barlow out for Zorko. At least you are getting in another premium but you potentially negate halls missing score by doing this, therefore only missing out on a rookie like score worth 40-60 points.
I like that idea Macca but I have to bring in Brand to fund it and his JS is a big worry. Desperate time call for desperate measures though.

Hope you dont mind me throwing in a risky suggestion in.

Agree no forward option. You could go mccarthy out, amt fwd and bring in eric hipwood from brisbane. Another def fwd who is a little costly but adds some further dpp into team. 1st game although despite his height, has scored well in junior periods.
I'll have to look up Hipwood GBF, don't know much about him but thanks for your help.

Hey Rowsus
Thoughts on bringing in Wingard, Mundy, Robinson or Dalhause in this week?

Hi Rowsus,

Love the work you do in this forum, very insightful indeed!

Looking at bringing in one of the following defenders: McVeigh/ Enright or Doherty.

Out of the 3 whom do you think represents most value from here? McVeigh was in my final team plans for pre season, still could drop lower next week but hasn't set the world on fire.
Enright looks a pod and priced similar to McVeigh I can see averaging 90-95.
Doherty performing well to date but priced 40k above McVeigh and Enright and has a harder draw coming up. I also already have Simpson in my defense.

Who would you suggest I take and why?
Hi Mm, thanks for the good words.
Docherty $512,700 B/E 38
McVeigh $472,800 B/E 122
Enright $470,300 B/E 68
Certainly, if you want Docherty, it would seem you get him this week, or leave him to one of your last upgrades, hoping he has come down in price again. I think he is a little over priced (102) for what he might produce from here. The most likely to miss a game or two from here is Enright, then McVeigh, then Docherty. On a week to week basis, Enright might be the best value option, but you will curse the games he get managed. I think if you can comfortably reach next weeks upgrade, then grab Docherty, otherwise grab Enright.

Thanks Row. Current bench (Laird, Adams / Menadue, Davis, Petracca / Wyatt / Wells, Uebergang) if that helps :p

Things have now gotten a little tricky (and may get worse). Will now have Laird, Adams, Wells and GAJ on the bench so not sure if I should keep Brown for one more week as cover or just trust Tippa, DBJ and Ruggles to score well enough without a looping option.

With Adams...worth holding and still trading out Brown first? Will be keeping DBJ as I agree with you there.

If Barlow is ALSO out, then trading Kerridge is a harder decision as he is sitting at F5 and also compounds onto potentially keeping Brown an extra week as cover.

I guess I'm at a little but of an impasse...this week I think I need Priddis (due to GAJ being out)...but I'm not sure what way to go about trading him in. It looks as though I'll lose my degree of freedom M/F which I really don't like...but I guess there may be a chance to move Menadue/Petracca back there next week via another trade...

Would love to hear if you can come up with some scenarios for me that may work to my advantage :p
If I'm reading it correctly, you only have 21 playing before any trades.
Adams isn't looking like a Keeper, has made good money, and you need to take action. I'd trade him out this week.
Even if Barlow makes it back into the team, his JS has to be highly questioned, now Freo are in re-build mode. I'd trade him out this week too.

Adams/Barlow ---> Priddis/Brand or MacPherson.

I'm looking at 3 donuts before trades this week and only $3800 in the kitty. I can trade Papley to Brand (which I'm not happy with) via dpp to cover the donut in defence but still have 2 in the few line. Only leaves me with $435k after trading Mcarthy to find a fwd none of which that are worthwhile. Even then I'm still left with a donut.

My question is do I open a bottle of cab sav or a smooth Merlot.

Seriously though, I don't know what do . Any tips?

minidee,
if you don't want to go too far back this week, I think you have to go:

Papley/Barlow ---> Brand and whoever you want.

In your situation, you just have to take the risk.

Hey Rowsus

The only one of those 3 I'd be happy to bring in this week is Dahl.
Mundy needs to show he can score close to 110 consistently in his new sweeping halfback role, before we trade him in. Wingard needs an injury or two to get some Mid time, or needs to start kicking 3 or 4 goals each week. Robbo is Robbo. With Beams gone, he should score ok, but he is high risk.

Hey Row,

Do you have any stats on players performances in the wet?
I'm interested in Neale's stats in the wet compared to the dry.

Thanks mate.

Zorko it is then. Thanks everyone for your advice.

Hey Juzzo,
no, there's not enough truly wet games to bother keeping them, I think.

Hi Rowsus, had an interesting discussion with Stephen over in the trades thread.
Do you think it's worthwhile to bring in Wingard this week and play him as my F6/F7 for the rest of the year?
Zorko and Dahl are my prime trade-in targets so that leaves me with 1 spot left, I'm afraid I won't have enough money for someone like Joey.
Additional bonus is that I get Menadue off the field this week lolz.
Thoughts?

While Wingard is a great price, I think you shouldn't be trading in players to play F6/7 right now. It's better to be getting players you are confident can fill a higher role.
I guess the exception might be, if you are short of Cash this week, and your team is looking weakish in this week of carnage, and Wingard is the only player you can afford, that gives you a boost in an important match up, you might do it. Otherwise, trading in a player you expect to be on your bench at the end of the season is a bit wasteful.

Hi Rowsus,

Although I didn't end up following your advice to bring Docherty in for Brown, instead opting for Menadue to Howe, which I'm happy with so far, I'd still like to acknowledge your good suggestion. Indeed, your approval of Howe was the key reason I considered him in the first place.

Hey mate, just wondering if you could have a look at my team and see what trades you can come up with. I have 280k in the bank and i'm thinking about one up (Priddis/JJK) and one down (Williams/Mathieson/Hopper) or possibly trading out Martin/Jacobs to get Goldy along with an upgrade.
If you want, come up with something out of the box.

Thanks.

Hi Rowsus.
Just wondering if you've been keeping the same rucks data you produced last year. Stef Martin doesn't seem right. I already have Goldy and preseason it looked like Sauce and NicNat had difficult early draws. Hoping it might shed some light on future ruck scoring.
Cheers.

Hey anfa18.

Rowsus will only be able to see the 22 scoring players you had this round, so he won't be able to make a judgement based on your whole team.

Hey anfa18,
Eagling is correct, I can only see your 22 scoring players from Rnd 9.
Here is some info that might help you decide, or just confuse you even further!

I'm liking JJK to get a big score this week. Here is what KPP Fwds have done against GC in the last 4 rounds:
Lynch T - 133 - Season high. ave 89 in his other 7 games this season. Up 49% on season ave Vs GC
Walker A - 119 - Season high. ave 69 in his other 8 games this season. Up 72% on season ave Vs GC
Cameron - 143 - Season high. ave 70 in his other 4 games this season. Up 104% on season ave Vs GC
Hogan - 45 - no idea how it went this bad for him.
Hawkins - 140 - Season high. ave 73 in his other 8 games this season. Up 92% on season ave Vs GC
Kersten - 106 - Season high. ave 65 in his other 7 games this season. Up 63% on season ave Vs GC

So 5 of the last 6 KPP fwd's to play GC have recorded seasons high, and have scored at an average of 76% higher than what their season average was, excluding the GC game. JJK has a season high of 180, and is averaging 108. If the baby's been born, he could go 190 this week, if these figures are anything to go by! More realistically, I am expecting him to go at least 130+ this week! I'd love to make him VC, but they play last!

GC haven't been giving up scores to Mids that translate as high as the KPP Fwds, in relative terms. Recent scores are: Sloane 95, Scully 121, Shiel 120, Coniglio 118, Jones 137, Viney 92, Selwood 138, Dangerfield 132. We can expect a good score from Priddis, but it would seem if someone is going to go nuts, it's more likely to be JJK this week.

Upgrading one of Martin/Jacobs to Goldy is nearly a this week, or last upgrade you make proposition.
Goldy $574,800 B/E 66
Martin $458,300 B/E 143
Jacobs $465,400 B/E 100
Given Brisbane are "experimenting" with West, and Martin just isn't gathering 20 possessions like he was last season, I'd use Martin. The changeover is currently $109,400. Let's assume Goldy scores 110 against Sydney this week, and Martin scores 75 against Hawthorn. That will blow the changeover out to $158,700 next week. It's starting to get out to a full Rookie upgrade price. Unless you are prepared to wait for either Goldy to have an injury score, and come down in price again, or until you've nearly completed your team, it's now or much later.

If you want a POD, take JJK. If you want consistency, and to close a negative POD, take Goldy. I'd take Goldy.

Hi freowho,
I'd love to help you, but no I haven't done that this season. I agree Martin doesn't look right, so I'm going to go Martin to Goldy this week, like I should have last week! He's not handling the ball like a tall Midfielder this season. He seemed to do that last season. His Ruckwork seems below his level of last season too. He could bounce back, but his price and B/E ($458,300 B/E 143) nearly make it move him this week, or ride him out.

Hey Rowsus,
Wondering what your take is on Tom Mitchell?
Like many, I brought him in early and have since been either crying or screaming into my pillow at night.
Bar dealing with other injury issues, is it time to cut and run on him?

I know there is tagging and there is running with, not sure if he has been doing one or the other but none of it looks pretty.

Appreciate your insight.
